As much as this forum loves to troll about Maye... this actually becomes a similarly interesting job imo. I think a guy like Johnson can see a nice QB and also pairing without needing to turn around an organization known to suck for over a decade, in a tough division.

Or he could see an average QB who is over hyped, an impatient owner who wants another 6 championships, and unrealistic/spoiled fanbase. You better win multiple championships in a hurry or you will be fired.

And they have a shit ton of cap space and a better pick.

Happy the Lions won so we can figure out what's happening with BJ sooner. By this time next week, he'll likely have all his interviews done.

It’s only his zoom interviews though right? He can’t meet in person during the playoffs

Yup. I'm just thinking that by the time he finishes those, there's going to be a lot of smoke in terms of where he may land.

I don’t think we know for several weeks. It will drive people nuts here.

Maybe, I'm just trying to unbiasedly say that NE is an interesting option for anyone hoping to step into something with a possible franchise QB in-hand.

Oh yeah, for sure. I think I read a year ago or so that it takes about 3 weeks on average for a team to hire a coach. I wouldn't expect anything official until near the end of January

It is but it has its issues as well which is what I was pointing out. I definitely think it’s top 3 along with Bears and Jaguars.

Both of these Lions coordinators having a good night
Glenn has been impressive tonight. I’m sure playoff opponents are going to be sending endless amounts of tape on their consistent mugging of receivers but if the refs aren’t going to call it, then keep doing it

They can do in person interviews while still in the playoffs but I think that is just for the teams that go to the Superbowl. But, they have to do the virtual interview in this initial window and then the in person ones cannot start until after Jan 20.

From the espn article:

Only virtual interviews are allowed before the conclusion of the divisional round on Jan. 19. In-person interviews can begin Jan. 20, after the divisional round for coaches whose seasons have concluded.

No second interviews will be allowed until Jan. 27, the bye week, for Super Bowl coaches, and they must be concluded by Feb. 2.

Non-playoff coaches can interview for head coaching jobs three days after their regular season ends. The league has gone out of its way to ensure that teams abide by the Rooney Rule, and each coach supposedly gets a fair chance during the interview process. But the process, in the eyes of some across the league, remains flawed, no matter how much effort has been put into fixing it.

Oh man this drama is never going to end

What drama? Does anyone seriously think the Vikings are not going to extend KOC? Or that KOC will really be looking to start over somewhere else when he has Darnold playing the best in his career and McCarthy to develop right behind that? I mean, they just went 14-3. Why would anyone in that organization want to **** that up?
