Consider the source, but allegedly Watson is plan a, Wilson's plan b.

You don’t think Brady elevated them whatsoever?

C’mon, man. He doesn’t keep winning by accident. I watch games and players, you watch numbers.
Of course he did. Brady went to a good roster, perhaps a great roster, and gave it the leadership and experience to win a Super Bowl. It was a tandem effort.

Problem is the Bears are nowhere near as good as Tampa Bay. And if you subtract Vita Vea, Tristan Wirfs and Devin White from Tampa Bay's roster (their last three first round picks) that team probably doesn't even make the playoffs.

Here’s the context. You can go several years with an elite player like Wilson, maybe you don’t win a championship but you’re giving yourself a better chance.
No, you don't give yourself a better chance. The evidence on this is overwhelming. One elite player surrounded by shit doesn't make it past the conference championship game. Usually it doesn't even make it past the divisional round. If you can name one time it hasn't shook out exactly this way you would have by now.

And the Bears are what, chopped liver?

That defense may be ageing but it’s still littered with talent. Talent that would benefit from field position and the option to be more aggressive.

Not true. If the Bears build the offensive line, get a rookie quarterback and have another draft like one they had in 2020 they will probably win eleven or so games and the NFC North. The division is very weak now. The Lions are tanking, the Vikings might as well be and the Packers just lost two All-Pro's and they still aren't under the salary cap.

The flip side to that argument is there will be a fire sale on free agents once the period begins.

The Bears aren't that bad but they need an infusion of young, cheap talent. They need first round picks to be like Tristian Wirfs, Vita Vea and Devin White. The lack of these types of players from the roster after going two years without picking in the first round is glaring.

I don't think the Packers are really in any position to benefit from that still. They are really in a woeful cap position. Detroit could, but they don't seem interested. Minnesota looks like a wreck but I suppose they do have the roster potential to bounce back, they have too much money committed to a guy like Cousins though. Its hard for them.

Okay, well, Pace has hit on one first rounder in my opinion, so far.

They’re making a move at QB, I think everyone aside from you seems to realize it, so they’re giving up assets. Whether that’s in a trade for a QB or to go up in the draft, we don’t know yet.

Even if there isn’t that pressure to get a QB, as you argue, that would suggest Pace’s seat isn’t that hot & those valuable gambles don’t look so important.

In an ideal world the Bears will build an offense through the draft, but it hasn’t happened. I’m taking something the Bears have never had over a few first round picks.

Didn’t Brady just do that? With a team that was what, 7-9 in 2019?

he's reliving the same argument he started with me and getting shut down in the same exact ways with the same exact data but the idiot just doesn't get a clue and keeps trying to fight with everyone.

even if he really believes that, the fact that he still has to start trying to fight with everyone on it is so incredibly stupid....

So you want to buy the Ferrari, even though you can't afford the gas? Why? So you can admire it's beauty while parked in the garage?

Better than looking at a Camry that can’t move.

Both produce the same results and you have to walk to the store.
Well, of course. Wilson/Watson wouldn’t give the Bears a better chance of winning because Ferraris, gas or some shit.

Again, more fallacy with you. This time Ad Hominem, Your debate skills are lacking, and it shows. Being a Lions fan, or any other for that matter has nothing at all to do with it.

It's as if I were to counter your argument by saying:

"Pace makes terrible QB decisions, therefore if he were to trade for Wilson, he would be terrible".
Good stuff, bud. Now take that to someone who cares enough about your opinions to further engage with you.

I've got Bears fans to argue with. Not fans of the worst franchise in professional sports. Thanks.

Gets ass handed to him, runs in the corner and pouts. Only argument he can make is based on geological proximity. Forgets that by trying dismiss the poster in which he is engaging by making even more fallacy arguments such as, because you are a Lions fan, you know nothing about football.

forgets the extremely obvious counter argument that would say....
Since you are a Bears fan, you know nothing about quarterbacks.

You really suck at debate.

So right now Seattle is listening to offers but has not yet confirmed they are willing to reciprocate.

But they are willing to listen.

In other words nothing is imminent, and Seattle still has to decide if they are willing to pull the trigger.

So effectively that's where we are at right now.
