Crawford was the man tonight. Second straight game where we couldn't have won without him.

If he plays this way in Game 6, we will be hoisting Stanley on home ice for the first time since 1938

Even though he had a pretty "good" game, I still think he is the Achilles Heel of this team, that turnover he allowed right before Sharps empty netter could have been HUGE!!!!!

Ha! I was at a friend's house tonight. Great game by Crow! I hope I'm wrong about him and goaltending in general. I probably am.

I'm not fighting with you tonight, tribar, I'm partying. We're one win away from the Cup and I love the Hawks as much as you do so I'm going to keep celebrating.

We're bringing this ***** home, and after we do, I'll raise a glass with you and every Blackhawks fan in the world.

The turn over was horrible...the recovery was amazing. That first period wasnt a friend for goalies to be puck handling. Craws typically a better puck handler. Not the best in the league but far better than average.

Bishops recovery was the worst of the night.

That first period was fuuuuuuucked.

Point made. Crawford was very good tonight, just as he was last game. Gotta love the evolution of a series, where I-told-you-so's happen every day. That said, what happens if/when Crawford gives up 7 goals and blows the series the next two games? Just kidding.

you mean where he made an amazing save, and then took out one of their best players?

Crawford not only stood on his head, but was the most physical Blackhawks player tonight

You are wrong, so was I.

The only issue that prevents him from being classified as "elite" is that one out of 5 nights he struggles.

I expect perfection every night, which is in most cases is an unrealistic expectation.

most cases? it's wrong in ALL cases. There's no such thing as a perfect goalie

I'm sorry, but if he gifts TB an easy goal AT home, it's a different game. We were gifted a goal and didn't exploit it like we should have.
Stop being clammy dude....

You're posting a "but if" :nelson: But if I win the lottery I can retire.

Yep great recovery by Cory. Kucherov gone after that, big loss for TB. He hit that post hard, didn't look like the Marsh peg came loose at all.

The problem I have with that mindset is that people who have it tend not to apply it evenly across the team.

To wit: they expect Crawford to be perfect and make a 4'x6' cinderblock wall look bad, but in the same vein if Toews, Kane, Keith, Sharp, Hossa, & Seabrook screw the pooch or play like the the team did in 2007 (which they have in the playoffs), they get a pass for some reason. IMHO you can't have it both ways--either all of your 5M+ players get a pass for the occasional brainfart because they're human, or you expect perfection for shelling out that kind of wampum.

My $0.02

No goaltender is perfect every game. However, I think Corey Crawford is one of the most consistent goaltenders in the league... right up there with Carey Price and Henrik Lundqvist. Even those guys have bad games, but if it only comes 1 out of 5 games, they put their team in good position to win consistently. That's all that really matters. The Hawks don't need a guy that gets 10 shutouts per year, but has trouble in the rest of the games.

He may not steal 10 games, like Marc-Andre Fleury... but he also won't go 10 games screwing the pooch either, like Marc-Andre Fleury.

Consistency > Shutouts
