Why does eveyrone want this team to lose...so hendry can **** up the draft pick...

People who root for their team to lose is a complete moron...I hate losing but I will never hope a team loses to get a better draft pick or whatever.

Just mind boggling

Esicially in baseball where draft is a craft shoot. Like 80% of 1st RD picks dont even make the MLB.

Because Hendry isn't in charge of the draft, and the guy who is actually has a pretty damn good track record of success?

Bullshit. Way more than 20% made the majors... and it is well known that you have more talent available to you with a higher draft pick.

2000 - 57% made majors
2001 - 59% made majors
2002 - 65% made majors
2003 - 72% made majors
2004 - 78% made majors
2005 - 72% made majors
2006 - 59% made majors
2007 - 37% made majors
2008 - 47% made majors
2009 - 20% made majors (you were right on this one, but that number is still going up)
2010 - 4% made majors
2011 - 0% made majors

And we can expect years 2007-2011 (and 2006 to a lesser extent) to get up into the 55-80% made majors area as well.

Unless you meant ONLY 80% MAKE majors, rather than 80% DON'T MAKE. If the former is the case, then you can disregard this post, but I was just replying to what you actually wrote.

Everyone was a prospect once. I'm not rooting for the Cubs to lose, but I'm not disappointed if they do lose at this point. They're 18 games out of the division lead and the wild card. 39 games to go. Barring an asteroid bombardment of half the NL, a higher draft pick is going to benefit this team much more than marginal wins.

Coleman is the kind of guy that is going to take a while before he is going to be serviceable. He is really going to have to be able to pitch because his stuff is so meh. That said the Astros aren't a bad lineup for him to go against in his return to the bigs.

It is going to be a while before Coleman is ever really ready. He just has such a small margin of error with his pitches that he has to really outthink and place his pitches perfectly to succeed.

I really didn't think that Quade would have a Baylor/Baker like fetish for veteran players.

I dont understand at all. I mean johnson is a good piece to have as a 4th outfielder, but he is playing too much. I dont follow the cubs farm all that much, but is there something wrong with jackson?

Brett Jackson isn't on the 40-man yet. I think they figure he strikes out way too much despite the fact that he can get on base so well.
