Regarding the list--Zastrysysny is the one that's the most frustrating. You'd think he'd be a lot farther right now.

Yeah, I think that the Cubs have quietly done a pretty good job of acquiring some young pitching talent at the lower levels of the farm system. Much better than they're given credit for, especially after building the #1 farm system full of great bats. :yep:

I dont know who closed this thread? I re opened it. Javier has gone on the bereavement list. His sister passed away at 21. I know he was extremely close to her. She had spina bifida. All the best to him and his family during this rough time.

CHICAGO -- Javier Baez's sister, Noely, passed away Wednesday, and the infielder will take an indefinite leave of absence from the Cubs' Triple-A Iowa team. Noely was 21.

Noely was born with spina bifida, a disabling birth defect which happens when the spinal column does not close all the way. The Baez family had moved from Puerto Rico to Jacksonville, Fla., so Noely could get better care. Javier was involved in a fundraiser for spina bifida in Jacksonville to raise awareness.
"We don't see her as someone who is different from us," Baez said in an interview in December 2013. "She's a miracle for us. She's a miracle in our lives."
The Baez family asked for privacy during this difficult time.
The Iowa Cubs were scheduled to open their season Thursday in Memphis.

Yeah, he was very close to his sister as well. She came to most of his games and sat behind the plate. They did a special on her not too long ago. She idolized him and was his biggest supporter. So sad. Best wishes to him and his family!

Soler and Rizzo deserve it. Certainly enough noise is made about Starlin. For that matter, Russell, Baez, Edwards... They all are exciting to track/watch as Cub fans., And it's so Grimson.
