Surprised to see QB listed as the top need, even though I'm not at all a Jay fan. The Bears have a ton of other needs - including offensive line - that in my opinion need to be addressed before throwing a rookie quarterback to the wolves with this talentless team.

It's gonna take any QB you draft at least three years to be ready to win a Super Bowl (Russell Wilson is the exception). Pace and Fox need to take a guy next season or they'll be going into their fifth year before they can compete.

Every year they put off finding Cutler's replacement sets the franchise back a year. It's not like they're going to "get the team ready," draft a guy and then win the Super Bowl with a rookie.

The only thing I'd worry about is the o-line. Whoever they draft will have weapons, they'll just need protection. But if the protection's not there, they'd be better off putting Cutler out there for another season while the rookie rides the bench. You don't want a David Carr situation.

With that said, between finding a couple of linemen in the offseason and Pace's playcalling (he doesn't seem like he'd a put a QB in a bad position), the protection shouldn't be an issue next season.

Regardless of your other needs, if you don't have a QB who can win a Super Bowl on your team, QB is your top need.

How can you say we passed on Cooper when he was selected 5th and we did not pick until 7?
Lol, jk means "just kidding". Did you miss omelets thread on not drafting Cooper?

Hope so, as long as it's not the bears who take him. Not a big fan.

With the 8th pick the Chicago Bears select Jalen Ramsey, CB, Florida St

Jalen Ramsey is a stud and would be an all star st CB or FS. Him or jaylon smith would be massive upgrades to this defense. This draft seems kind of week for 3-4 pass rushers at least first round types

Smith and Ramsey are my top 2 for the Bears. Even at #1 overall. Just my opinion. But those are the two guys I want.

First of all, Cutler is the answer for the next two years at least: Therefore, my draft goes like this:

1. Offensive tackle.....either RT or LT, I do not care. But he has to be a sure, no doubt about it starter in the NFL for the next ten years.

2. Outside LB...... got to be able to blitz yet cover also.

3. CB......... should be able to get at least a sure starter nickle out of the 3rd round at least

4. Offensive guard........... we should have four quality linemen next year with Slauson returning back to guard and Grasu taking over at center. Add a starting OT and another guard and they should be set.

5. Safety............ Get the baddest hitter available in the 5th round or use one or both of our fives to trade up to the 3rd or 4th.

5. QB........ project better than Clausen at least.

6. Special teams

6. Special teams

Free agency:

Tight end

Defensive end.

LB

DT

Guards grow on trees compared to other positions.

Really? Is that why that right now we have two piece of shit offensive guards? Along of course with a shit LT?

That's because We have so many holes on this team any player will fill a need, and IMO there's no sure fire top 3 lock expect maybe the LT from ole miss

It's going to be Jaylon Smith if he is there. Fangio will turn him into the next great ILB.

I'd say you need to do more homework on him.
Probably. But he seems to get a lot of production when unblocked. I also don't like him standing up very much. He won't be able to cover anyone, not that's a big deal though. Still a 4-3 D, I'd have more interest.

I don't doubt that he could be a great LB. I just don't know that the "next great LB" makes as big of a difference as a great CB, LT, Pass rusher, or even S if that's Ramsey.

If the Bears had 1 more strong pass rusher and a couple better CBs, they'd be more than fine with Jones/McClellin.

i remember saying take gregory in the 2nd, gurleys a given and i showed Hau'oli Kekaha love, while not being super impressed by shelton as a top pick. hmm so you talking to me....

Kekaha has been solid in NO thus far......

I get where you are coming from though... its a crap shoot regardless of position. AND yeah, they need a rush and CBs... nfl.com does at least mention it.. so they arent completely tarded

We needed Goldman so bad and were lucky he dropped but I was thinking the same thing before the draft. I actually didn't think he'd get to our 2nd.

you draft a QB and he can sit and learn while Cutler plays the next year or 2. He can have some spot games here and there when Cutler gets hurt (last full year Cutler played was 2009) The reason we are so bad is because of the bad drafting.. there is no talent waiting to come up the ranks when someone gets hurt or gets old.

QB has to be the number 1 priority

I wanted Gurley, it's a joke he fell to 10. You take generational talents when they are on the board I don't care what position it is.
