On the bright side (since I try to always remain an optimist here), Butler is showing no signs of stopping his stellar season which gives me great hope that we have our replacement star for Rose on the team already. Pau is still an All-Star talent, with or without Rose. Niko has All-Star potential that may not be too far away. Snell is steadily improving each day. Then there are our old reliables, Noah & Taj. McDermott hasn't shown us everything yet as well. The future isn't as dark and murky as it seems right now.

This is pretty much my way of thinking. A lot of Bulls fans are losing their shit(rightfully so), but I don't agree with the doom and gloom. Realistically, the Bulls were not going to win a championship this season with or without the Derrick Rose. There are still a whole lot of reasons to watch this team. If anything, not having Rose there trying to be Stephen Curry every game might have some positive effects on the team. I really like the future talent they have, and while a bulk load of blame has been placed on Gar/Pax, I actually think they have done great with their draft choices. Their drafting and signing Pau Gasol are the only reasons this team will be worth watching without Derrick Rose.

The future isn't doom and gloom, they just have to be smart and lucky, otherwise Paxson will build a slightly better 06-07 team.

I can see the point on Rose, as the team may play more of a team style now that Rose isn't out to prove a bunch of shit to himself and the world...That said, I can't see them getting out of the 2nd round, while with Rose (mostly a Rose we saw against Cleveland for example) I think has Finals potential (but loses to any team out west).

The Bulls can keep their 3rd seed, but I fully expect Cleveland to move up to #2. Toronto is in a nose dive right now. I can see the East as 1) Atlanta 2) Cleveland 3) Chicago... That would pit us against Cleveland in the 2nd round. If we fall to #4, we'll likely see Washington in the 1st round in a rematch of last year. I still don't like our chances in that aspect either... If we did beat Washington this time around, I have no confidence against Atlanta.

Well, let's see how much Kirk plays now.
Well it'll be a lot if that's what you're wondering. At least in the immediate future. Assuming he's back tonight, we'll probably see around 30 minutes for him. At this point idk if you can avoid it unless you want Brooks playing 40+ minutes and/or Moore playing lots instead. Then again, I'm sure plenty of people would rather see Moore.

Yes I would rather see Moore.

I'd actually like to experiment and see how each guard runs the O.

I'd like to see Moore split the time with Kirk at the very least. Have them both hovering around 15-18 minutes each and ride with whoever's playing better. Like it or not, Kirk is still our best passer so he should help in that regard. When he's not dribbling around in circles that is.

Thibs press conference an hour ago:

"We knew this injury was a possibility".

Which actually says, we knew he had some bad cartilage in there.

Why wasn't the knee scoped?...just another chapter in the most bizarre rehab I have ever seen.

Keeping that 3rd seed is about the only chance to get out of the first round. IF the Bulls get past the first round, the 2nd round will more than likely be a massacre for them, regardless of who they play. No doubt Cleveland ends up with that 2 seed now.

I've been yelling for Thib's to play the bench more all season. I've also said many times that I'd like to see Kirk move to the b/u PG and share minutes with brooks (prior to Rose getting hurt), and as a 3rd option at SG.

I also have said that Moore should be getting more minutes, and he actually looked pretty good in the short stint he got minutes a few weeks ago. He brings some energy to the lineup.

With Rose getting hurt, I'd like to see what Moore can do at PG a little. I think Tony and Jimmy can man the SG spot, and Kirk, Brooks, and Moore can share the minutes at PG.

Unfortunately, I see Thib's playing Kirk too much at the SG spot and sliding Jimmy to the SF, which, imo, makes the Bulls much weaker. Now with Rose out, I'll bett Thib's gives minutes to Kirk at PG AND SG, which, imo, will be way too many minutes again for Kirk!

Which makes it even worse that Thib's is sticking Rose in the end of games that make no difference! WTF is Thib's thinking?

Yeah probably. But maybe we'll get lucky and he'll give Snell all the SG minutes instead.

So if he got injured in the first quarter of tonight's game, is that any better?

Seems like a silly point to me. Thib's is either conserving Rose or he isn't. Playing Rose in UNNECESSARY minutes at the end of games is not doing that. It's seems logical to me, that if there was a good chance to re injure his knee, I'D REST ROSE EVERY FUCKIN CHANCE I GET!!!

Nevermind Thibs, Rose was never going to get to 100% regardless.

Only now do we find out he was playing on bad cartilage...

Dan Hampton used to have his knees scoped every year for this reason, so he wouldn't go down.

I mean, it's not like I support throwing Rose out there in a blowout. Indeed, that was dumb. In fact, I said earlier in this very thread that if those 3 minutes or whatever that he played was the time period in which he retore his meniscus Thibs deserves a VDN style choke out. However, from what we now know it seems like it was going to happen regardless.

And speculation has surfaced that he played 3 games on it torn, the pain just didn't show up until yesterday.

In any case, I don't think its Thibs fault Rose got injured. Just like many people immediately blamed him for Rose tearing his ACL on Thibs still having him in the game.

I think with the reckless way Rose played and having all those hamstring injuries that season, one of those moves eventually was going to rip that ACL apart in the playoffs.

I would think that the Bulls knew everything about Rose's knees after missing two years, and owing him millions of dollars. The bottom line is Rose was overused and expected to do too much, imo.

And Danimal would get a scope on Monday and play on Sunday. He did that many times. He had 9 scopes on one knee and 7 on the other.
