According to this no one has a clue when he got injured:

Apparently Rose didn't even feel it until today. I can see that as a buddy of mine fractured his foot playing ball and didn't feel that until the next day either.
Regardless of when it happened, it's the fact that it DID happen. Again. It hurts to say it but his career is over in terms of being a superstar. He simply cannot stay healthy and more than likely never will. He is our version of Penny Hardaway, only even more talented.
Now that I've had time to digest this, it's time face the reality that Rose is done as an elite NBA player. Oddly enough, his backcourt mate in AAU ball and best friend Eric Gordon has faced a similar fate in his NBA career. Only difference is that Rose was the more talented of the two, which makes it even more heartbreaking. I don't know how Rose can mentally come back from this. He may never. Or he could come back, but us as fans, and the organization cannot rely on him to be a game changing talent like he was. This is a tough pill to swallow for everyone (and maybe a little harder for some who just learned that Patrick Kane is effectively done for the year as well). From youngest MVP in the league to an injury prone shell of himself all in the span of 4 years. And he's only 26. Just sickening.
This is going to play out with Thibs being traded or out-right fired. He will be the fall guy.
End of a disappointing era.
Thibs will not be the Bulls head coach next season. His job was effectively ended the second the MRI results were known. It's a damn shame because he's done more with less over the past 3 years than any other coach in the league. It's not deserved but I think most of us realized that if we didn't at least make the ECF, there was not much chance of Thibs being retained.
On the bright side (since I try to always remain an optimist here), Butler is showing no signs of stopping his stellar season which gives me great hope that we have our replacement star for Rose on the team already. Pau is still an All-Star talent, with or without Rose. Niko has All-Star potential that may not be too far away. Snell is steadily improving each day. Then there are our old reliables, Noah & Taj. McDermott hasn't shown us everything yet as well. The future isn't as dark and murky as it seems right now.
