I bought a log house...It's 1 HUGE project!
Log House?..I hope you're handy! My family is looking to get a river house, wouldn't mind finding a log house on the river with some land.

Those Lincoln logs can be quite the challenge...j/k.
Just finished my dart backboard. Got the board from a pallet, roughly 4' by 4', spray painted the rest, used painter's tape for the stripes, wooden "da bears" letters from hobby lobby. Plan to add a "C" and a Bears head later, maybe some HOF numbers
Anyone from the Chicago area know of a place that has a Bears head or the Bears "C" wood cut out? There's nothing like that down in Mississippi... (I don't have my own skill saw-yet)
My wife says we're getting a cat. I say that's fine, but it's staying outside.
Now i'm halfway through building a shelter for the cat. Looks like a doghouse, only a bit smaller.
Question -- what should I use to roof it? Tar paper/shingles? Something easier? It'll be protected from the elements relatively well, though I can't guarantee it'll never be rained on.
Thx fellas.
Reclaimed teak is pretty cheap now, and ipe is also awesome for the price. You wont need shingles if you step the planks tight, although you might want to bond(urethane/silicone) the edges and in the pilot holes for the best seal. Cats like higher ground, and outdoor cats need claws. Basically, if they like the "cat house", they'll claw their way to the top, so basic treated pine is going to be scratched away at the edges. The cost for weather resilient wood goes down, like other woods, when you just go after the scrap selections(which should be more than big enough for a "cat house".
And IIRC, cats will adapt to a little house with rounder walls better.
X has to post pics of his cat .
oh, IT WILL HAPPEN.
