No. I just worked at a Vons in California, got paid minimum wage and was forced to join a union and pay dues.

When I was in high school I recalled that the cashiers at supermarkets were in a union and they got paid something like $19 an hour back then. But that was just he cashiers.

I had a supermarket job that paid less than minimum wage, I had to pay dues, and it was part of a school apprenticeship program if you wanted to work legally at the age of 13. Couldn't work more than 3 hours after school, and more than 8 hours a day on weekends. So if you hit 20 hours(I think, or 18, I don't remember the exact rules, this was 1990) , you had to pay dues. I did that for 2 months before finding another job where I lied about my age and got paid more and promoted faster. I also had an extremely broken family situation where I had to take what I could get.

Lord knows that I hate agreeing with you, but I agree with you here. If Allstate commercials have taught me anything, it's rarely the guy doing the tailgating that gets into the accident.

Here they are busy with their phone and slowing down is a risk to your vehicle. If I'm in my 1 ton I brake and slow down to 35 from 65. Cars bounce off huge old work trucks and they get the ticket and a fucked up front end.
