I think Williams will be a better QB than Fields. But, 300 yard passing games can be more of an indication that your team has a bad D than a great QB.

What I want is a QB that can pass to complement a great running game, not one that has to pass to make up for a bad D.
Okay…I’m confused.

Being forced to pass because you are losing is bad.

Passing because you are good at it to compliment a solid running game is good.

WTF has happened to the IQ in this place?????

The Bears had a terrible D Fields first year yet he could not do it.

Having a bad D does not allow you to pass for 300 yards, it forces you to pass to try to win, and that CAN lead to big passing numbers and/or terrible results because you are predictable.

A balanced O, when the D is not able to focus one one thing will always be more successful.

Average Football fans know this, it is obviously rule number one on O, do not be predictable. Before this thread I assumed everyone that posted here already knew basic NFL concepts. I am really surprised and disappointed that this still needs to be spelled out here.

For the few people that needed that explanation:

I couldn't be happier with CW's improvement but there's quite a bit of 'improvement' with the entire offensive unit. DJ Moore had more separation on his first TD alone than the Steeler's entire WR core had all game........the opponent's take..... x.com JF threw for two TD's in the 2nd half to put his team up by four with under five minutes left but the D couldn't make it stick. CW had the kinda game we've all wanted to see from the rook,a solid running game and some time to find all of those open weapons will bode well if it continues. Bears' D 'stuck' their opponent all day. CW was the better QB yesterday if we're comparing, the rest of the offense was also better than what Pitts' trotin' out there.
