49ers are said to be trading for Dee Ford.

Does this mean Houston may stay in KC?

All I know is that Pace isnt some strangely foolish decision maker. Because if you are baffled that he wouldnt pay a no brainer 12-13 mil that "definitely" improves this team (versus problems it causes).. then you must be baffled by the Texans, Ravens, Colts, Raiders and Green Bay brain trusts. Certainly he would be a huge boost to them. Your logic would put Luck and the Colts in the super bowl too. At the end of the day.. I dont think it's obvious. Im not baffled by Pace.. i can see it iffy. I dont see paying Bell (when you have good rbs) 13 mil an obvious no brainer. And many others a lot smarter than me across the league felt the same.

Jesus Christ modo, are you still harping on the fact I disagree with Pace. Get over it. This is a fan forum where people have different opinions than management.

I simply pointed out that if I am debating the point and you by your own admission were being a smart ass then by definition the comments were not the same. Our comments can't be the same if you weren't actually trying to debate the point and instead decided you would be a smart ass instead.

Remy, I have no problem with disagreeing with management. Everyone does that.

We debate it that’s fine.

What I am perplexed about is you losing your shit over a simple smartass comment.

I don't think there's any question there was only one team going close to what he wanted.

When it appeared the price was far below what Bell expected, some teams may have kept an eye on the negotiations, but it seems the Jets were the only serious team at that price.

I am not saying there was. I am saying that means jack shit. If Bell puts up 2,000 yards from scrimmage next year, does it matter that no one else wanted to pay him 12.5 million.

Does it matter that no one was willing to pay ARob or Gabriel or Burton what they got from the Bears? No it does not. All that matters is whether they live up to their contracts.

What?

Did I say jacksonville made a good deal bidding against themselves?

What in hell does Jax and Foles have to do with this?

Not a lot.. lol.. why so angry.. it was just a segue. You mentioned Jets as only real suitor.. and it made me think of Jax.. why did they fork out 25 mil per as the only suitor as well. Mixing it up bro.. cant be all Bell on this thread :)

I am not losing my shit. I am simply explaining why your smartass comment was not the same as my debating the issue hence your statement was incorrect.

I don't care about those teams but the Green Bay has wasted ARod for years, the Raiders are rebuilding and not contending for SB, the Colts are pretty dumb IMO hoarding all that money, and I would be baffled if I were a Texans and Ravens fan as well. So really not sure what this whataboutism is intended to prove.

That you are saying you are clearly smarter than all those personnel decision makers across the league. Including the Bears brain trust. Yeah no sense in continuing this.. only to say that not only do lifelong professional evaluaters disagree with you.. but many of us feel it wasnt a no brainer. I wouldnt be angry to get Bell.. be excited regardless.. but I also think its very iffy at best. And clearly not obvious if u take a professional poll.

Where did I say I was smarter than anyone? I disagree with their decision. I already said only time will tell if I or Pace was right so how is that saying I am smarter? Disagreeing with someone does not mean you think you are smarter. It means you disagree.

Furthermore even if I were correct about Bell that still wouldn't make me smarter because that is a single decision. Whether I am smarter would depend on whether I was consistently right compared to them which is pretty much impossible to prove and not really meaningful to debate.

Bell would be a nice piece to have but most did not want to invest that much money in him and it is hard to argue with concerns about him.

Fair enough. u said time will prove you right or wrong. But maybe my point was more that you seemed so baffled that Pace or anyone could think otherwise. And I was trying to get you to see that it must not be so obvious a decision.. by looking at all the professional evaluators that disagree. But it never softened your stance or got through to you to consider why that might be. Anyways.. all that said. I wont hate it if we get Coleman tomorrow :) Cheers

My comment literally has no less value than yours. Mostly considering that everything here is an opinion and zero value anyway. In that respect we are here for entertainment purposes only.

Professional evaluators are wrong all the time as am I. So that is neither here nor there. All one can do is provide their opinion based on their perspective and my perspective is such that the potential reward far outweighs the concerns. So this boils down to subjective perspectives. A caterpillar can't relate to what an eagle envisions and the only question that remains is who ends up being the caterpillar and who ends up being the eagle in this battle of differing perspectives.

First you are moving goalposts. Your original statement was that it was no different than mine not of no less value. They are in fact different because there is a difference between trying to be a smartass and trying to debate a point. The former uses comedy and the latter uses logic and they most certainly don't have the same entertainment value.

At the end of the day, it appears Nagy and Pace are banking on Trubs and more familiarity with the O as how we make significant leaps forward as the moves thus far cannot be said to have improved us.

If you are content with that do you but considering we had around 28 million to spend once we restructured Mack, forgive me if I had hoped for far more than 3 filler types who can't be said to be clearly better than the guys they are replacing.

Hopefully we don't find ourselves looking back on FA 2019 as a missed opportunity.

Who's really still out there for this new cap space to be used on??

I think they expect some post draft cap casualty pickups & want to have the gun loaded for a quick triggerin. :yep:

Any great OL talent on a cap bubble? Still haven't signed the backup OL yet right?

Any underperforming 1st Rd pick, bad fit guys on shit teams, or recoverable injured with potential coming up?? (Pace seems to like taking low risk/high reward shots like this for short prove-it deals, depth/fillers at worst)
