I tend to think Varys is the low-hanging fruit option for a GoT betrayal; only Tyrion really trusts him at all, so no one else in that cohort would be particularly shocked. It would be interesting if my above dilema (Tyrion having to protect Jaime and Bronn from Dany) ends up leading Tyrion to defect. But, the problem with that is who the hell could he defect to? Not his sister. The Walkers for some ridiculous reason? So that's out. Sansa is still a viable candidate as is Missandei. Perhaps Greyworm ends up in the Black Cells, and their love is the catalyst for Missandei getting all backstabby.

Greyworm hasn't been captured though, and to me he is a fight to the death and never surrender kind of guy. Now, is Missandei were to get captured, he might be an interesting option to betray Dany, as there has been some foreshadowing.....

Gonna be a lot of great meet ups next episode. Dany meets the King slayer. She did admit dear old dad was evil though so that could save Jaime some harm. Of course, Tyrion meets up with both his bro and buddy. Jorah the explorah about to return and, from the preview, it looks like Jon comes face to face with Drogon. It's cool though, Jon has the blood of the dragon.

Prisoner swap?

Jon burned himself when he chucked the lamp at that first wight to save LC Mormont, right? Trying to recall whether or not he's fireproof too. I still find it odd that it took Dany until she was a teenager to figure that shit out. How many times growing up have all of us dicked around with matches too negligently, or got hit by that random crackling campfire ember, or some such similar incident? Just seems like something you'd notice fairly quickly even if the excessively hot bath having no ill effect thing didn't tip you off.

Not all targs are fire proof, that is something only Dany possess's.

More importantly, if ugh, fucking Bran, is ugh, all seeing and shit...why the **** has he not looked back at his attempted assassination and seen that it was Littlefinger behind it to begin with. To, ugh, you know, warn Arya and Sansa for fucks sake.

Who's to say he doesn't already know? aka him saying "chaos is a ladder" in response to little finger, means Bran already knows a great deal about LF's past.

Chaos is a ladder was something LF said to Varys way back when.

Yep you're right. I think it's a bit of foreshadowing that LF is going to be outed as the scheming little **** he is.

For me watching LF die would almost be as satisfying as watching Joffery choke to death.

I know Greyworm is wandering around free -- or more accurately, sitting on his ass on The Rock free -- but it's a foreseeable option; especially after their "you are my weakness" conversation.

In the show they never say who it was that sent the assassin after Bran, but the books imply it was actually Joffrey. But, we don't really have a definitive answer to that yet.

Wasn't it Cersei behind his assassination who then tried to frame Tyrion? LF was in KL at the time and Tyrion admitted the knife was his on the road to the Vail.

LF was a key contributor to their father's beheading though. I think Bran saying "chaos is ladder" to LF was Bran's way of telling LF he knows since LF said that same thing to Sansa.

Who was behind the assassination attempt on Bran has never been fully determined, in the books, while not a certainty, it is highly likely Joffrey was the culprit. Of course, the show could choose a different route, but to the best of my knowledge, no one knows yet.

LOL, oops, someone beat me to it......

Idk if Bran cares about who tried to assassinate Bran....

Methinks Little Finger might try to finish Bran off and Sansa will see it coming, Arya will kill Little Finger.

Ima cringe when Jon bangs Dany and the writers write in some cringe joke like "The next time Your Grace wants me to bend the knee, just ask"

I really like how they don't portray most of the large battles as simple mindless mass slaughter; virtually every one of them has at least a few moments of contemplation of the horrors of war. Blackwater had the reaction to the wildfire, BotB had the Jon getting trampled/mass pile of corpses portion, this one had Jaime and Tyrion's horror of watching their countrymen being burned. It's a great way of humanizing the nameless masses as well as introducing even more frailty to the major characters. So many shows and movies -- even good ones -- get that wrong.

I mean, let's just look at Braveheart as an example (just because it was brought up as a great war movie in another thread): at no point during the three or four major battle scenes (it's been a while) is there even a moment of consideration given to the fact that these are human beings getting carved up like livestock that I can recall. The audience is rooting, lustily, for the carnage to continue the entire time. Pretty much the only time that stops is when WW figures out that RtB betrayed him, then he scans the battlefield as his army gets finished off. Other than that? Nothing.

Bran doesn't give half a **** who ordered his shanking, but everyone else in that story-line that is still half sane would.

Bronn on that ballista/scorpion weapon kinda cracked me up.... whole battle going on, people chasing him, but as soon as he gets to the machine, no one bothers to try to stop him from shooting at the dragon that is carrying the queen lol

I was pondering the same thing... all I could come up with is he trying to get in good graces with Bran cause he presumes Bran is Lord of Winterfell as Ned's only surviving son?

Episode 4 has to be one of my favorite episodes of the entire series. They finally had a properly budgeted episode

Yeah. That was awesome. Bronn really got a lot of action and I loved the sword scene with Arya and Brienne and Little finger looking on.

I wonder if Little Finger will try to hook up with Arya and Sansa at the same time.

So after kicking all that ass does Dany get all the riches and the fucking idiot as a prisoner?

Nope. Old man Tarly told Jamie that the gold had arrived in Westeros just before the Dothraki and Dragons arrived and burned up the stores of food.

Is it established that Jamie and Bronn were taken prisoner? Last I saw they were in the water, right?
