hey...somehow Ghost made it out alive after being on the front line...so maybe not all the Dothraki soldiers died. Unless Ghost, after charging, was like "nah...forget this. I'm out"

I'm shocked, shocked to discover a fictional fantasy series with dragons, magic, and ice zombies would eschew hard realism in favor of dramatic license!

http://www.whiteworld.com/technoland/reviews-techno/reviews2009/TWT-internal-consistency.html

A show about people that have engaged in endless wars and for whom several characters are considered tactical geniuses then forgetting basic elements of military tactics is not internally consistent.

Not to mention other inconsistency issues like the mob making it all the way to Arya in the castle or to Bran but somehow leaving alive damn near every important character on it's path to Arya and Bran.

I'm all for some drama, but cmon.... the last 2 seasons they didn't just "eschew hard realism", they violate the laws of physics/logic in their own fantasy universe.

I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm saying you're missing the point.

I can grasp the point of the episode, I did.

While still calling out the writers for shitty writing.

Same can be said of those complaining the episode was too dark to see what was happening.

"You're missing the point, it was supposed to be dark and chaotic and make you feel as confused as the characters."

K well I can still feel it was a bad Production choice.

Because Bran is the 3 eyed Raven. Pretty **** dumb plan in the end. NK didn't even fight anyone. Utterly underwhelming ***** of a villain. And it seems we will get no more story of his character or motivations.

I suppose we should have realized this as he is not in the books as imagined here and the writers always struggle when they stray from the books. In the end, he was a hollow character with no substance.
Not to mention if NK wanted to wipe out memory he would have needed to destroy the entire weirwood net as that is what greenseer ability came from and what the children built to specifically serve as the memory for everything.

But he isn't. One of the tenets of science fiction and fantasy writing is making things internally consistent. What they did with the Dorthraki is not internally consistent as within this universe there are plenty of characters that understand basic military tactics.

You can't sell Tyrion as some great strategist and then have him approve such a stupid fucking plan.

He has proven to not be much of a strategist. I had many issues with last night. Enjoyed it, but.....I will refrain from bitching lest a GoT SME comes at me.

This is the part where you project the "tenets of science fiction and fantasy writing" (as if they were written on stone tablets) that you enjoy on to everyone else and insist that we have to enjoy them in the same way you do. I'm willing to suspend what I consider to be moderate amounts of disbelief if it means I can better enjoy the art as a whole.

I mean, imagine being the kind of person who still bitches about the "internal inconsistencies" of the Mass Effect ending in such a way that you can't even appreciate beauty of it, the music, the visuals, or the loss of characters you'd come to know for the better part of a decade of story arc:

You seem confused. You are the one projecting. No one responded to your points. You responded to our points trying to tell us we should enjoy the show as you do.

Internal consistency in Sci Fi and Fantasy is not my opinion. Fairly standard for the medium. However I dont care if others dont care hence why I mainly shared my opinion and not ragged on others. However between you and Gus, you guys seem to be upset that Ares and I chose to value internal consistency more as you are both making remarks instead of just enjoying the show as you see fit and leaving others to do the same.

Now if you can find the post where I came at you for not caring about IC let me know as what I did was defend Ares and myself from you and Gus taking issue with the fact we had issues with the storytelling.

In short, perhaps take your own advice.

That musical lead up to Arya was flat out amazing.

Correct. My first comment to you was to because you projected your feelings that the episode was lacking because of poor planning. As if: a., that takes away from the overall experience, b. plans in GoT always go smoothly

Yeah not just him though. How all these people with military experience approved Dothraki running in the dark at a superior force is beyond me.

Only explanation is that they wanted the Dothraki dead to reduce Dany's numbers in the event they won but that wouldnt expkain why Dany and Tyrion signed off on it.

As it stands you have Dany, Dothraki and Unsullied sacrificing themselves while dumbass Sansa still throwing shade at Dany while she cowers in the crypts. I seriously wanted Missandei to slap the shit outta her.

This is dumb. You are projecting your feelings that it doesnt take away from the overall experience when it in fact for some of us it did. I gave my opinion. You gave yours. To each his own. Only one side trying to tell the other how to feel.

Think she is the red witch as at the end she took off her necklace, got old and died.

I don’t think grrm finishes the books even though in his last interview he supposedly still is. I wonder what changes? What new details we get? I’m sure Arya still kill nk but what else we learn that just isn’t possible in the show for one and just isn’t there yet cause the hbo writers can’t hold grrm jock strap
