I worry they hire a different first time GM who starts over yet again. If they fire Poles I hope they don’t switch to a 3-4 defense.

I think the key players they have on defense are probably flexible enough they could figure something out.

The part where I just don't know if they should fire Poles is more like the devil you know vs the unknown. If I thought George McCaskey could actually hire a better GM, then I would not hesitate. But...I don't trust McCaskey to be able to do that.

At this point I don’t see Poles surviving he is such a fool for not taking the new coach last year. It’s going to be the Warren show.

I will understand it if they fire Poles. But they’re better coaching away from 6-4 and people being excited about next year. I have absolutely zero faith in George.

I think a new GM absolutely has CW on a short leash and will ultimately want to pick his own guy. All the more reason Poles shouldn’t have tied himself to Eberflus this past offseason. Either misguided loyalty, stupidity, or both.

Would be a disaster if that happened.

You said good teams don't lose to the Colts. The Steelers lost to the Colts sir. Sorry.
I said "playoff fans don't lose to teams like the Colts like that"

Flukey losses happen, Eberflus having a team unprepared isn't a fluke it's a common occurrence. Eberflus blowing a lead late isn't a fluke, it's commonplace.

Fields fumbling and losing games isn't Flukey either. The facts are they lost.

I don’t think a new GM would have Caleb on a short leash. It would be the same leash as any QB gets. Murray is still starting, hell even Daniel Jones is for some reason.

Odds are Poles will survive but I don’t think he should. I’d give the job to Cunningham.

That's assuming he had that option.

We can’t discount that possibility. That someone with no football acumen made the decision to keep Flus. But the mess of the offensive line is 100% on Poles, as was taking a SS in 2022 in the top 50

They are not being a dumb ass away from 6-4 (WAS and GB) better coaching from 7-3 or better. That's why I'm not 100% out on Poles ...yet.
