Fired Lovie would have the Bears exactly where Flus has them. He started giving away games just like Flus does.
Correct. Lovie really went downhill after the Falcons squib kick meltdown.

Defense is not top ten. Past 3 games showed how thin the Dline is. No sacks yesterday. It’s was bad. Edmunds looks lost out there. The Bears can’t stop the run against cardinals and patriots.

4-6 is right.
The biggest lie the Bears have been able to feed this fanbase is, "Well, at least Eberflus is a really good DC."

Uh, file that under "Facts presented without evidence."

Even Indianapolis Eberflus never lifted his squad above the sum of their parts.

They've been losing for 40 years, and it hasn't worked out.

But maybe this time....

The Bears are 7th in scoring defense with only one proven pass rusher and while being 15th in sacks. That is pretty good.

Against weak competition. When playing against good teams that are coming up, they will suck ass.

They outplayed the Lions last year and held the Packers to 20 points or less the last 2 matchups. Guess we will see how they fare against the teams upcoming but they have allowed more than 21 onlyonce the last 16 games or so.

Sure and if they hold up what will be the excuse then?
Maybe he's getting better then and I'm wrong? Or maybe the Bears have good defensive players?

I've seen Eberflus coach good defenses. That's not the same as being a good defensive coach, though.

When has he ever made his units play above their collective expectation? When has he ever made someone look better than they are?

Last year is not this year. The Bears got smashed by the Cardinals pretty handily shoving the ball down their throats. Same with NE. The Lions will put up 40 against this pathetic shit of a team.

I already explained it to you. It is not common to have a top 5 defense when you have only one pass rusher and are middle of the pack in sacks.

People were asked before the season if this was a top 10 D and most said no. Yet it is 7th so far and that is with Sweat being meh this year.

The Indy loss did it for me - playoff teams don't lose to that team like that.

Next year is gunna be fun but they gotta slow the **** down with the hype. Let it build like the Chargers are now.
I never bought the hype. I hoped for better but knew the lines would hold us back. I’m still trying to enjoy the season but once again it’s all about the draft slot

The numbers on the Bears defense are good. But the situational stuff beyond the numbers is bad. It feels like every damn time the offense gets some momentum, the defense gives up either a big play or allows a long scoring drive.

When the lights shine brightest, Eberflus's defenses stumble.

Hindsight being 20/20, I think that was true when he was DC with the Colts and it has definitely been true with the Bears.

The defense has survived by generally playing well in the red zone and getting some timely turnovers. They don't suck, but I also do not think of them as being dominant.

Just because the Bears defense isn’t the 2000 Ravens doesn’t mean it’s bad. You know being above average in the NFL doesn’t mean beyond reproach? People trash them after every first down or completion they give up, meanwhile Caleb Williams throws the ball within a time zone of one of his receivers more than five times in a game and people can’t stop lauding how good he’s going to be.

Not dominant but they are top 10.
