I think Cooper Kupp has to be in the running. 138 catches for 1,829 yards and 15 TDs. He's basically giving you 114 yards and a TD in every single game. That's nuts.

I guess that was my point in my other post. You have guys like Cooper Kupp and Jonathan Taylor (over 2000 yards from scrimmage and 20 TDs) that are not really even being seriously considered because they are not QBs. Even though they absolutely are a huge part of the success of their teams.

Damn I didn't realize Taylor's numbers were that huge. But he's AFC, so you could easily (and likely) see him be the AFC MVP.

Because how many added wins do those guys contribute over their replacement?

I'd imagine the packers record would be close to flipped if jordan love had to start all year. Thats how valuable rodgers is.

Not really sure you can make that same case for a WR or RB in todays nfl.

I thought MVP was for the value of the player. Seems like it's obvious. Rogers was out with Covid and they played with Love.

Packers with Rogers = championship contender
Packers without Rogers = Houston Texans 2021

Like it or not Rogers is the MVP.

No that is how bad Love is. A fair comparison would be how the team fares with a replacement level player in their stead.

The 17th best QB by QBR for example is Dak Prescott. Are the Pack still a playoff team with Dak. The answer is yes.

The gap between Rodgers and an average QB is not as great IMO as the gap between Taylor and an average RB because Taylor actually doubles the production of the 17th ranked RB which is actually Singletary or Monty. He has more than double the yards and triple the TDs.

The Pack have a top 10 D which is why despite how garbage Love is they were still in that KC game. They also have the best WR in the NFL, an excellent OL and a top 5 RB tandem.

Any competent QB can win with that team. Not a lot of RBs can carry Wentz garbage ass to the playoffs.

The Colts have the most pro bowl players in the NFL and are 9-7. The Packers are 13-2 with Rogers and have had injury issues with their offensive line all year. I'd love to see any serviceable qb make the throws and decisions that Rogers does week in and week out.

I just gave you one. There are 32 starting QBs in the NFL and Dak is ranked 17th oer QBR. Dak has the Cowboys as the 2nd seed in the NFC.

There is really no rational argument that the Pack are not a playoff team with Dak.

By contrast it is obvious that without Taylor, the Colts would not be a playoff team. Again he has double the yards and 3 times the TDs as the 17th ranked RB.

The MVP award was designed to identify the best player in the league
Not best player, that would be BPA, it's the most VALUABLE. So to me, that's a guy you take out and the team falls apart. Sadly, though I HATE Rodgers, and even more NOW, he may BE the MVP.
