Damn... I don’t think I could do one meal a day... I just eat a bit when hungry.
Damn... I don’t think I could do one meal a day... I just eat a bit when hungry.
well a byproduct created by this one meal bs fucked me up.. initial surge of energy led to a drop in temp and feeling cold and i was knockouted cold with an hour of dat meal.. woke up two hours later still feeling dizzy and FULL. i dont know about this shit. not eating all day isnt hard, but if im going to feel like this afta a huge meal and this sluggish for a workout - f this.. maybe if i wasnt exercising this would be the way to go.. considering i cant even hit 1100 during me meal... let alone the 1800 minimum ive set for meself.
will eat my oats tomar before working out and then i will figure out the rest of the calories.
You can add some easy calories in with a fat smoothie. Add an avocado into your favorite smoothie and will still basically taste the same. The avocado, alone, will add a bit over 250 calories.
Ill eat avocado but im not really a fan. Avocados need to be at a perfect texture for me. IDk what it is. I do like slices of them on real tacos though. They aren't worth the cost in australia. On avg they are 3 bucks a pop in season here. I've seen them 4-5 dollars per in the offseason. Maybe I've been gone from murica too long and things have changed, but i swear i use to get 2 for a dollar in season or at worst, two for 1.50
I think Ill stick to adding more seeds, nuts, dates etc. If i make a salad loaded with different seeds, nuts, chickpeas a few dates and a olive oil based dressing, that should rack up some cals fairly easy. Sunflower seeds are hard to beat when the costs are pretty low. 584 calories per 100 grams. A 120g bag of raw, shelled, unsalted is $1.20 AUD ($0.86 USD)
I feel the same with avocados. If they ain’t just right when I open it, don’t want it. They’re very cheap here in Aldi’s though. Not a fan of nuts and seeds.
I usually get a lot of extra fat into my smoothies just by adding whole or half an avocado and an ounce of coconut oil and/or thick cream. Trick with smoothies is find a protein powder you really like, add some to the smoothie and it takes on that flavor more than anything else.
OMAD is actually tied in to Ketosis and IF. Same concept for all three, that being to get the body to burn fat rather than sugar. If you want ideas for meals and stuff, there's a bunch of OMAD stuff on youtube. Probably the best youtube channel for OMAD is Fledge Fitness. Seems like a bright guy who really knows exactly what he's doing. But there's plenty other users showing the type meals they eat for OMAD if you're searching for ideas.I figured it out.
2-3 roasted Chicken legs w/skin (depending on size, but they can be up nearly 600 n mo cals) on top of me dark leaf/spinach salad, raw veggies, sunflower/chia seeds, chickpeas, a couple dates, olive oil dressing.
while it might not taste the best, it can be 1000-1600+ cals, depending on how generous i am with seeds, chickpeas, dressing. then i could eat a small bowl of oats for a couple hundred more cals. some carbs n mo protein and finish it off with my single or double pea protein drank without oil. it definitely lowers the volume big time.
now i need to branch off this and build different menu thangs if i stick with omad, cause i dont want to eat the same shit every day. ill stick with this during my run through though.
Eating me oats and a handful of walnuts yesterday for breakfast helped me workout. While it was a light workout, me muscles felt alive. So, if the OMAD doesnt workout, 2 meals may be the next go to.
IDk if im working out or doing 1-2 meals today. Got a rescheduled induction/training shit to go do.. 4 days of light workouts in a row, so i may take it off. then come back and do 3-4 days and then take another day off. So I may just do 4 on, 1 off, 3 on , 1 off for a few weeks. BUT IDK, nothing is set in stone atm..
That's what I was trying to tell you earlier in the thread.induction/training was quick.. 2 hours of them taking me and some other chick around to a few different properties. buddy shifts start next weekend i think.
no workout today... im only eating once.. its basically been 17 hours.. whats another 7.. i aint doing this fer the fasting aspect.. but from a fasting aspect, idk how a energy drink effects that and if im out of fast anyway.. i chugged a 500 ml white monster before me induction.. duh zero suga zero carb one..
from a IF stand point, i see why most ppl do 16/8.. 16 hrs without eating doesnt really take much discipline. takes a lil i guess, but when most ppl are asleep for 8 hrs, doing 8 doesn't seem bad.. especially if they do 4 before bed and 4 in the morning.
did stop by aldi to get some toilet paper.. no binge or cheat urges. me mind is correct and where i need it to be.
anyway i will eat me roast chicken salad tonight with a side of oats and protein drank. hopefully my workout tomorrow isn't bs with dead muscles.. eating normal and coming off a day off.. id be ready to rock.. so hopefully this aint ass

From a pure fasting aspect, anything knocks you out of it but there's also some who do a micro nutrient fast in which you can take supplements. Black coffee is another thing people often allow during their fast.
You're already in that mode so why not continue for a few weeks to see what benefits it brings? The only way to learn what is truly best, is to give it a try for yourself.i may search out some things but im learning as i go through me exp. im not really focused on keto, making sure i stay in a fasted state and all that other stuff for now. im just focused on hitting me calories range eating once a day and seeing what happens. while im trying to keep me calories up.. im not counting to a t yet and im not focused on specific macros either.....im just keeping protein n fats up.. carbs are up in the air..
i had a small side of oats with my dinner, ill adjust n add mo carbs if i feel like complete ass during tomorrows workout.. backload mo better if needed i guess.. also started adding me creatine in my pea protein drank.. hopefully that shit kicks in a week or two..
todays meal was a gut stretcher but it was a lot easier to put down than that other meal i couldn't finish... shit tasted so good too.... thats one of the side effects ive enjoyed immediately....... i actually got confused with my time.. i was an an hour away instead of 3. i forgot i ate at 4pm and not 6.. so with an hour to go my body was telling me it was feed time.. at the same time.. i guess ill go longer some days.. so my window may get changed and take me 30+ if work gets in the way. may also adjust and have two meals other days just cause..

Can't fall back into that mode of what worked in your youth. Damn near everything worked in our youth cause our bodies are more optimized in our youth. It's not til we've ravaged it for decades that it feels the effects and the aches and pains and heavy weight gain come. It's not just because Americans are lazy that they're fat. It's because Americans are stupid and have listened to the same lies for the last 5 or 6 decades that they're fat. Damn near everything they've been told is a lie. It wasn't eating fats that made people fat. It was all the low fat, sugar filled, and overly processed foods that were put out in conjunction with that lie that made them fat. It wasn't more exercise they needed, it was better, more satiating and nutritious foods they needed. Yeah, exercise is good, but if you're talking weight loss, its effect on weight loss pales in comparison to what you're eating.
It's true, it doesn't matter if you're taking the sugar in through food or drink, sugar will always be the main enemy. The thinking that says calories are just calories ignores this plain and simple fact. Also, what you're drinking.
I lost my first like 10+lbs when I stopped drinking soda.
I dropped from like 245 to 235.
I had gotten down to just under 220 at one point... 218.... and then things went awful.
I've been back up around 230 the last 4-5 months.... I was drinking a ton of alcohol.
I stopped drinking (mostly) the last 2 weeks and I am back under 230.... 228.5... hoping it can continue dropping if I stifle the drinking for a few months.
Alcohol just turns into sugar.... beer is basically drinking carbs/sugar.
Ginger is good for a lot of stuff. Haven't had any lately but I used to use it some when I had stomach problems. Can also get rid of that sore throat real quick by downing some oregano oil.If you guys ever get a cold. Grind up some ginger root, put it in boiling water and let it sit for 3 minutes. Then strain out the ginger and add 1tbsp of lemon juice and honey and a teabag. Throat feels 100% better after drinking it. Tastes pretty bad but works wonders.
