While i love the sarcastic optimism, obviously I don't expect that to happen.

However, there is zero reason for mitch to not play if called upon. If he plays well, it only increases his paycheck next season. IF he plays poorly, teams will chalk it up to our offense and nagy being a dumpster fire.

If he gets hurt....well, he's already hurt for the third year in a row.

Zero downside for mitchell playing.

He should play his game though. If he wants to run all day, I say he should. Let Daddy Nagy get mad. **** em.

Yeah the guy who was ranked one of the worst QBs in the league last year can just sit out and cash in on a payday and starting job. What world are we living in? Not saying it's even close to most of his fault but 2019 did happen.

Mitches stock is probably the highest it will be this year, and if he plays it will probably drop.

I said it in another thread, but if I am his agent I am paying a doctor off to say he needs shoulder surgery, schedule him for a "scope" and shut it down. I wouldn't risk my career for Nagy or Pace behind this shit offense. The bears can go **** themselves.

why is that funny? I'm not saying Mitch is a good QB im just saying that last year and the first 3 games of this year the focus has been on the QB being the problem. NOW the focus has shifted to Nagy being a fraud.. Him playing will shift the focus back to him.. that does NOT help his stock

Unless...you know...he plays better than foles, which he's already done this season.

His stock and $$ can only go up. He's not starting anywhere no matter what. If he plays well the next few games(if nagy even lets him play, thats another discussion) he would still be a backup but it'd be the difference between making what winston is making right now versus making what chase daniel is making.

Like you said he has already outplayed Foles so him doing it again will not raise his stock. But if he plays worse and there is a good chance that happens his stock drops, if he gets injured again his stock drops. At best his stock will stay the same.

Go on IR or demand a contract. Simple options for him to "quit" without actually "quitting"

Mitch will get another shot elsewhere and if it's in a decent offense then we'll all get to judge him again.

Having said that, he'll have to play if he's healthy. He shouldn't but he'll have to.

There is no upside to Mitch playing, the chance of him playing well in this shit show is very low and the chance of him getting hurt again is probably pretty high. If I'm his agent I tell him to sit out and right now his failures are starting to look more like its on Pace and Nagy. There is always going to be a team looking for a QB and might think they can use him.
It's obvious you never played any sports at a meaningful level

Yea, but no.

I heavily doubt mitch getting hurt again changes his stock in FA. His odds of landing a starting gig were basically zero anyways(unless one of the teams drafting a QB high decide they want to sit the qb and put mitch in for a year).

Either way, playing can only really help his stock if he somehow makes this offense look marginally better than foles did. If that happens, people nationally will see how shit nagy is.
They need some type of GM that would make him the 2021 Mike Glennon.

If some moron GM could sign Mike Glennon to be a place holder starting QB, then someone can do the same with Mitch. oh wait...

he didnt quit on the team the HC quit on him, little bit different and he can "hold out" for a contract which happens all the time in the NFL.
Yes, but the original post is suggesting that he quit on the team.

This is probably one of the most unintentionally Special person ideas I have seen on CCS.

1. Be a professional athlete, but 2. dont play because people might see how bad you suck, because 3. that gives you leverage like when good players hold out for a better contract.

Yeah if I am a GM and I want to roll the dice on a bust QB, I'm looking for the one that runs and hides from opportunity to prove the haters wrong lmfao wow

The only thing that can happen to mitch is that his stock goes up.

If nagy decides to start him, and he even plays mediocre, some team might have hopes that they could redeem him outside this shit show.

If he sits out like a little ***** he might not get an offer from anyone. People don't like quitters.

What does the level of me playing sports have to do with talking about the business side of the NFL?

Football is a business, but it's also a culture and a brotherhood. Not one player would respect a quarterback who decided to quit on his team.

we are talking about what his agent is telling him he should do. I know thats difficult to understand with it being in the title of the thread and all but try to keep on track here
