I'm surprised Pax is that much of a hothead. He doesn't really seem like that kind of guy. Then again...neither does Steve Kerr and he basically got into the fisticuffs with MJ.

Oh Pax has ALWAYS been that way, going back to his playing days. MJ loved guys who could come back at him when he got in their face & Pax never backed down from anything. It's why he's one of MJ's closest friends. And hey that's great, AS A PLAYER, but when running a billion dollar organization, you have to carry yourself with more restraint and professionalism. Honestly, I haven't seen a lot of that over the years with Pax. Hell he had to relinquish his GM duties because he was having health problems due to high blood pressure.

i didn't enjoy anything

im a baby bulls baby :(

Poor little whipper-snapper but at least now I understand your pessism with the Bulls more. I'd probably be more of a pessimist if I had to grow up watching the Tim Floyd-era as my intro to basketball.

A Joe Cowley article hit my feed from the Sun Times. And I clicked. Just a warning, if you're like me and want to avoid giving traffic to lazy writers who are paid to cause trouble, more than be factual. Just like his track record of being wrong 100 times out of 101 about the Bulls.

Joe Cowley is a freakin moron. He's also a Reindorf hater. I wouldn't listen, or read, a thing this guy has to say. Just google his ass and read a ton of bullshit that he has been part of. The guy's an idiot.

The firing of Ron Adams was the oddest thing. I get that you may have wanted 'to send a message' to Thibs, but you pissed off guys like Rose and Noah in the process. Not a smart thing all around.

Yeah, this is a mystery to me. I just don't get it. The only thing I can gather is that GarPax somehow wanted to expose Thibs and thought getting rid of Adams would help do this. Watching Thib's struggle, imo, with how to use the players he has, it makes me wonder.

I'm not so hung up on players getting a lot of minutes, although I do believe Thib's has the luxury of a deep team, which should allow him to substitute often. I do question if Thib's knows how to utilize the players that he has, however.

I hate being a controversy guy, but something is just plain weird with this move.

supposedly Ron Adams spoke out about a roster move and thats why they axed him but im not sure how true that is

it could have been a get back move at thibs for taking so long to sign his contract

who really knows what happened...they never said why

I've heard a few Pax radio interviews, he can be moody.

If(and nobody at this point really can say for sure)he is meddling in coaching affairs...there is no reason to. It isn't his job to begin with.

Bulls have a very talented team, and Pax has been a part of that.

But he reminds me of John Elway as a GM, very headstrong to the point of limiting his own success.

Now that KC is chiming in, part of me thinks there was some real truth in what Van Gundy was saying during an ESPN game last week. Perhaps the FO does have the media in their pocket & this is the start of the "Smear Thibs" campaign.

Personally, I think this is horsecrap. While he has his flaws (like any coach), Thibs has done more with less than any coach in the league the past 3 years. He's endured more injuries in his tenure as a head coach than some do in their entire careers. If the team doesn't make it the Finals, HE DOES NOT DESERVE TO BE FIRED. Period. End of story.

If this is true, I have to wonder about all the "rose camp" stuff as well. It never made sense for the team doctors to come out and clear Rose in the media to me. I wonder how much Pax and Gar are on the same page, myself.

Pax played back when Crumbs was the GM, and all the players hater him. Heck, he was the one that broke up the team in the end. One would think that Pax wouldn't follow in that type of BS management style. Hence, me wondering how much is Gar.

Wonder if a player got annoyed at Thibs, and went moaning to management?...it happens.

Do we know what kind of roster move? Heck, if I was chicago media, I'd be all over trying to get Adams to talk.

I agree, but how does this translate to getting rid of Adams? :dunno: Unless it was a player that Adams suggested we move?

Replace Pax with BJ already. You know that is how the Bulls win Championships.

He was angry over the Asik move, but more so over the team shedding Korver & Watson for nothing, then bringing in Hinrich. He also made no qualms about letting Gar know this and Gar took exception to it.

yeah

but i don't know how much truth there is to that

KC confirmed it back in June 2013 after Adams contract wasn't renewed. Adams was told he "made a disparaging remark about the organization outside the walls of the Berto Center." Wojnarowski reported on the friction over the personnel moves in October 2013. Adams has said he's still "mystified" & "hurt" by it.

My take on the whole thing was that Adams & Gar did not get along, for the reasons listed above, Thibs backed his coach. There was already tension between Thibs & the FO because Thibs was adamant on keeping Korver & GarPax decided to throw him away like used trash. That was power move #1 by GarPax. Then came power move #2: firing Thibs right hand man, Ron Adams. Both of those were done with the intent of sending a clear message to Thibs that "WE ARE IN CHARGE". Things have never been the same with Thibs & FO since.

It's possible the relationship could be "beyond repair" but I personally don't believe it is. Winning solves everything when it comes to sports. Keep winning and this will fade off into the distance.

Then take a freakin hour and watch this. It tells the story pretty good. It really puts that 3peat in perspective and shows the character that team had. And then to do it again, just unbelievaBULL!!!

So for the first time after seeing this clip probably 100,000 times, I notice BJ Armstrong just falls down while Paxson is shooting. Any reason why?

At first I thought someone on the Phoenix bench pushed him, but it might be one of those celebratory falls. Idk
