I am glad he was pulled too.

But one batter in, and you can appreciate Jake even more. The Angels didn't hit much hard off Jake and didn't get a guy to 2nd in 7 innings. One batter off Grimm and a double off the wall. :)

Not anything to worry about. Just shows what a difference it can make.

Thought Heyward might have had that one but alas not quite enough.

Was hoping Maddon would pull him after the 7th. Game is in control. Long season ahead.

Yes, at 6-0, it takes a heck of a lot of doubles.

Jake doesn't need to pitch his arm off.

Uh, did you read carefully? Silence said he thought they should pull Jake after the 7th .................. which they did. It was a joke. No need to stress Jake, especially with all the pitches he had to make in the 7th.

This is why baseball is stupid. I don't fucking live in LA and yet the game is blacked out on my fucking cable because people apparently didn't show up to the game there. So to be able to watch the game i literally have to access a proxy and watch on ESPN.com because it's blocked out there too for some stupid reason. WHY DO YOU MAKE IT SO DIFFICULT TO WATCH YOUR GAME!?
I've got MLBTV and I can't watch it at work because it's on a local channel. LOL. The TV isn't where I am at. It's laughable. I'm not sure why I paid out the money???

Jesus, I've never seen the Cubs dominate on opening day like they did tonight.

They were in Richard's head almost from the start. This is only one but a great way to start.

PM me how to do it! Please!!! :D

What I did was install this extnesion to my chrome browser. https://hola.org/ then it just sorta works when you turn it on.

I should probably clarify this a bit. In order to watch via espn.com you have to have a cable account that they use. My cable company is mediacom. And even though I'm in a blacked out area, since I have mediacom and my browser is saying i'm in some where other than the black out area it let me play the game. But afaik there's no way to trick espn into letting you watch live without an authorized account. Alternatively, there are links that let you stream live sporting events. If the issues arises again let me know and I can point you in those directions too.

The story they told about Heyward buying Ross a suite upgrade for every road game for the season was kind of cool. I hadn't heard that one but makes me wonder if Ross played a large roll in signing Heyward cuz that's a pretty amazing thing to do as a nice gesture for a player who's retiring after this season.

It was done as payment for the jersey

Splurged for MLB.tv before the game started--if I knew they offered a 35% veteran's discount I'd have signed up during ST. A season's worth of games for less than $80, what an incredible deal.

Can't argue with that start...

I liked that they pulled Jake. No need to go +100 pitches in a game like last night. Gotta make sure Big Jake is fresh for September and hopefully October.
