Listen, I get that it was a reasonably tough play, and not a ground ball through the five hole. But my frustration lies with those who simply dismiss D as a part of the game, and get all clappy when he gets the occasional single.

I agree. This is a big reason I like Bryant at 3B, instead of moving to OF. As good as Javi looked at 3B the other day, the Cubs are clearly better with Russell and Baez up the middle. An infield of Bryant, Russell, Baez, and Rizzo, is much better, imo, than Baez, Russell, Castro, and Rizzo.

I will try to find an article I read showing how Castro hurts the Cubs double play %'s. The Cubs are much better with Castro out of the middle infield at turning two, and it wasn't even close.

The Cubs told Castro they wanted to see him involved in more double plays, but forgot to tell him they meant "on defense".

That over 1.000 OPS this month and over .850 OPS that past month and a half screams occasional single.

We are going to lose a critical game - in which we got excellent starting pitching - due to D.

Arrietta, Rizzo....many involved.

Defensive Lives Matter.

Good call, imo, Miggy's got to be able to go get the ball for the tag, which put him in front of the plate.

Sorry....lost track of my response. I was watching a good defensive SS save the day.

He wouldn't be playing there if Castro wasn't at second? Soooooooo

Blown scoring opportunities up the ass matter even more....how many games are they gonna lose because they don't shorten up their swing and make contact when they got guys on third base? Its getting ridiculous.

And the best thing was, after not making the play before, he kept his cool and made a big play, which is not what Castro is known for.

Wow....he's gonna hit 120 pitches. Joe's confidence in his pen is pretty limited at this point.

What does the 20-4 run with him on the bench, and the .500 record with him in the lineup say?

Meanwhile, Cubs just got out of a jam thanks to very good D. Do you not get it?

Yep, he is known for arithmetic skills like you.

Seems like a pretty immature thing to say just cuz people are pointing out the truth about your boy Castro. Answer one question.... why isn't Castro starting at SS? That's what I thought.

He didn't play during that stretch? He just made a solid defensive decision to get out of the inning. What does your dip shit thoughts not get?
