If they did that then they can't work with him and have him pitch...

At least if they waived him 2 things can happen..

They get lucky and a team claims him and they'll be done with him and that contract..

Or

He clears and they can at least try and work with him in Iowa

I could not agree more, cant expect bottom rotation pitcher to win with 2 hits and no run support.

Montgomery doesn't have a great track record against Milwaukee and with the offense in a mini-slump I'm not expecting a win today but I sure would like one. At the beginning of the series the only outcome they couldn't afford was a sweep and they avoided that. All that said go get 'em boys! Go Cubs!
