Baez having a horrible game at the plate. Way to many pitches out of the zone.
Javier Baez to finish the game on a sweet play... Covered 22ft, first step in 0.1 seconds, exchange 0.9 seconds, 64 MPH, 100ft throwBaez with a play to end it

Pedro Strop who being paid 4+ mil will be a FA after next year
Who would you rather see on mound facing Harper and Murphy?

We shall agree to disagree...You're underselling anyone other than Miller. On his career, lefties are hitting .230/.332/.350 vs Miller. If you wanna say that's because he was shit as a starter earlier in his career then fine but he was still .227/.277/.326 last year. That's good but not irreplaceable. Abad on his career is .240/.291/.391 vs lefties and .097/.125/.133 this season. Sean Doolittle is .182/.219/.297 on his career. So, if you're asking me that specific question there's a number of pitchers I'd rather have over Miller vs Harper or Murphy because while Miller is good he's not the best pitcher vs lefties. As I've said before, his value comes in that he's good vs both sides of the plate but again as I said, the cubs have other pitchers who are good vs righties.
Also, it's pretty obvious we're not going to agree here. I get why you want Miller but I also think you should try to open your mind a little. I honestly doubt the cubs are going to move for Miller and I really don't want to hear people complain if they go for a LOOGY type because it makes perfect sense as to why they would. It's not the front office being cheap and ultimately the cost in prospects could be absurd. If the WS comes down to 1 out needed from a reliever in the 7 and the cubs **** it up then they really didn't deserve to win anyways. And even then, you can use Strop who's been great to get out of particularly nasty jams. Maddon did this last night with runners on 2nd and third up 2 with no one out. Sure he gave up the sac fly but he limited the damage which is all you can ask for.
My hope is that Epstein can work out a deal to bring in Miller and the RH from the Yankees.
Betances is the guy I actually think their interested in from the Yankees, more then Miller. If you're referring to Dellin Betances that's absolutely not happening. His price is probably even higher than Miller's though they are likely comparable. He's been an elite reliever and he isn't a FA until 2020. I mean just look at what the Astros gave up for Ken Giles last year. And you're now talking about 2 relievers of similar caliber in the same deal. And even if the Yankees would consider dealing both which I doubt, you're literally talking the rest of the decent cubs prospects to get 2 relievers. I get people are antsy to win a WS here but you're foregoing the length of this team's run by making that sort of move.
Not trying to be a dick here and I don't know if you just don't follow trade value type stuff but suggesting that sort of trade may as well be suggesting the cubs trade for Mike Trout or Kershaw. Philly got 3 top 100 prospects for Ken Giles and two other interesting pieces including Mark Appel who was a top pick in a previous draft.
