So did Manny. He didn't make a excuse for it.

Here are the 3 guys we are talking about:

https://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=11281&position=2B

121 wRC+ and a 2 DRS & 5.9 UZR/150 at 2B. CF 0 DRS. Not really a fan of his UZR/150 in the OF. But in 2018 it was at 22.3 in 241.2 innings. So he has done it.

Would he be worth trading for? Yes. How much? It really depends on what the Royals want. I would want to push Russell with 2 prospects. ODLC or Tyson Miller and a choice of Steele (injured much this year), Thompson (Ditto), Lange (lost some velocity from his college days), Hatch. I would avoid Azolay, Marquez and Abbott. All 3 have solid chances of making the roster when ready.

Amaya with Russell and prospects I would want Whit and Jake Diekman. Just because he is a lefty and a 13.50 SO/9. I can work with that.

https://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=8203&position=2B

I would trade strait Dee for Russell. 78 wRC+ vs a 84. Not far off from each other but the Cubs are adding a set of legs and a LH bat that plays 2B SS and CF. Now I wouldn't go to bed on the idea of Dee in CF. 2018 -14.6 UZR/150 is meh. 2018 SS was a 5.6 so serviceable. 2B is a clear downgrade in D to Russell.

So going here I would want to offload something with Russell because D is not that great and his contract pays him 10 Mil AAV til 2020 with a 21 vesting. They are losing D at 2B and gaining in payroll for basically speed. So going here I would want to off load Chatwood also. Dee and Zac Rosscup (true LOOGY) would be fair for Russell and Chatwood. You might even get a prospect swap out of it.

Villar is at a 98 wRC+. .326 OBA. his career mark is at .326 OBA. I think the same applies with the Seattle scenerio. add Chatwood for a lefty. Richard Bleier would be a good target there. But the issue is in payroll. O's most likely would not want to take on all of Chatwood's deal and they would have to send over cash.

That is my take at least. I really think that they are ok as is up the middle. Joe just needs to keep Russell at 2B and let Bote move Bryant to the OF as needed. Daniel Descalso needs to be used as the 1st PH every day. 51 wRC+ is not even MLB quality production. But that way they are recouping some loss.

But if they do make a change I would want to off load Chatwood out of it. or Just go big and get Whit.
Whit and Dee would be a great addition, adds a lot of speed and contact at the top, lengthens the lineup and still gives you a great defensive team and at 4 million a year Whit is totally worth it. Question now becomes do we need another starter now if Hamels is out 2 plus months

Well the rain delay and this game are over. 5-0 and the cubs have a whopping 1 hit through 4. Pathetic! 4-15 on the road now in the last 19

I hear ya man. Everybody says im
Negative with the predictions but I’m gonna prob be right with this current road trip of 3-6 and hell that might be reaching a bit... 2-7 might be more accurate. If people can’t see that this team has a ton of holes and isn’t that good is just an idiot and oblivious

Need to get to the all star break and relax. No one in the division is killing it. They are all frustrated. They had a meeting today. And Montgomery needs to be dfa. 1-2 pitch and you throw a thigh high hanger right down the middle.

Maples has no business in a Cubs uni. Jack ass can't even find the plate most of the time.

Hondo would have been cut around that time anyways. So that is a non factor.

Here is the main problem. O has stalled. They need a spark pug at lead off.

They been stinking for 2 months...
They gave a lot of false hope during that span

At least Heyward finally figured it out though, might make it easier to trade him now ?
Straight up trade with Will Smith now lol, save the prospects for the other many holes they have. If I’m Jed and Theo I’m calling the royals tonight and asking what you want for Whit, they are definitely sellers so why wait 2 to 3 weeks to
Make a move when they could be 6 plus games out by then. They need help now!!

He's on a very team-friendly deal. going to take probably Schwarber + for him.

I doubt that they want Kyle. They have Soler absorbing DH PA's and the best D LF in the game.

I would go with Russell and Amaya. Try to get a lefty pen arm also. Toss in a unranked arm in return.

I would love to see a deal or 2 made by this Sunday and not wait until like July 26 or so like most trades seem to happen. The giants and royals are out of it and don’t need to wait until close to the deadline to decide if they are buyers or sellers

Well, since you predicted 75 wins, no. I am not ready to say you were right. I will gladly bet against it. I will take the over. 76 or more wins.

Pony up. Or shut up.

Amaya can’t be traded. He needs to be our catcher of the future.

Contreras is a good bat and good arm. Put him in LF and you will never regret it.

Hearn or Quintero are the catchers of the future. If Amaya gets someone that can help immediately and for another year or 2 then you trade him now

A meeting? Thank God. That should improve their ability to hit with RISP.
