It's unbelievable! you'd think that guy has been with the Cubs 15 years!

He is for sure going to be on the playoff roster, right?

Oh yea, he is def. catching Lester at least.

@ckamka: Most starts allowing 1 or 0 runs (min 5 IP) in a season
#Cubs (1913-present)
20 Jon Lester 2016
20 Jake Arrieta 2015
20 Hippo Vaughn 1919

Crazy to think they have 2 pitchers that dominate in back to back years

I mean technically it's 3 because Hendricks has largely been just as good as Lester.

It was a nice gesture by Joe to get Ross out of the game, too bad it threw lester off. Really did not know what Joe was doing with Grimm instead of Wood against Adams, but I guess there would be a time in the playoffs where a pitching change would be made followed by a pinch batter so Grimm would need to face a lefty anyway.

I think he probably would have but don't you think it's going to go posthumously to Fernandez as this point?
What happen to him is tragic and very very sad. Suppose Major League Baseball can show how much they honor him by giving him the award but there's other ways to honor him

Well, it wouldn't be just giving him the honor. He is in the discussion prior to the tragedy.

Call me nuts but I feel like it would almost make it feel worse for fernandez to get it because it would basically be what could have been type thing.

Not so sure...

Does it feel worse to have Santo in the Hall of Fame?

Yeah to get back on topic the Cubs set a franchise record with their 57th win at home this year. That is awesome and even more evidence that the Cubs are going to kill this stupid curse nonsense once and for all.

You really need to know what the word evidence means

I'm not sure it would feel worse for his family. Honestly if the BBWAA votes that way I wouldn't be the slightest bit mad. If they go with Scherzer, Lester or Hendricks I wouldn't object to any of those either. Honestly I do kind of want the MVP fro Bryant but other than that the only hardware I want to see our boys receive are trophies and rings.

Given Bryant's slump to start the second half and the month of September sans two games against Cincy, I think both Seager and Rizzo are ahead of Kris.

I don't think so. I realize WAR isn't the biggest factor in MVP voting but it is a factor and Bryant is 2.7 wins ahead of Murphy and 3.5 ahead of Rizzo. You could make a case for Seager but with he being a lock for RoY I'm guessing voters don't go that way. For either Murphy or Rizzo to catch Bryant they'd have to have some kind of special game that would turn even the metrics guys heads.
