Kazmir was on point for LA today. To bad Richard couldn't get out of the 8th without giving up 3 hits and a run

Dodgers got as many hits off Richard in 3 batters, then they had the previous 25 innings off cubs

It's not like Richard is a lefty specialist. He's crap and shouldn't see any game that's closer than 6 run differences.

Well there's the problem. Wood technically is the cubs lefty specialist and he pitched 4 innings yesterday. I don't think anyone disagrees that Richard is sorta crap but they don't have a ton of options in the pen presently.

If i was Richard i would be ashamed, really. I don't know if he can look his teammates in the eyes right now and it's been this way the whole season

Assume we'll see La Stella or Baez in the ninth. Hopefully one of them can get on in front of Fowler.

Like beck said, they had no other option with 4 lefties coming up and all top of order...

Hopefully we get to see Gerrardo Concepcion soon..

even with that crap inning..cant win games if you dont score runs
Kazmer and Blanton shutting them down cold

Agreed. Richard didn't get the job done, but it wasn't a terrible move by Maddon.

One ball just not quite deep enough to get to Heyward, another was an IF hit. It happens. But our relievers that inning were incapable of throwing a ball past anyone.

I'd argue the problem wasn't really calling in Richard. The problem is that Richard is the guy they have on the roster. I'd like to know where the hell Manny Parra is. He pitched well in spring training and was re-signed to a minor league deal but he's not played at all this year in minors. I assume he's in Mesa at extended spring training but i've heard no news.

Think what you'd like but bringing in a pitcher with a ERA near 9 because he throws with his left hand in a scoreless game in the 8th is stupid.

Either way it's just one loss in a long beautiful season.
