Another IHN poster has contributed as well, one with much farm-team knowledge.

Been posting over there for about a month. There is one poster that I have conversed

with privately who appears to be the RK of the Panthers. The guy has insight and

knowledgable insight at that. Hell, he even knew some things about Rockford that most

here are not even aware of.

I did somewhat slam "a lifelong fan of the Blackawks" who registered and posted his first

post that was quite "special".

Yeah I saw that and laughed. I was glad you were there to put those "HUGE BLACKHAWK FANS" in place that jumped on the board over there and started just confusing facts.

would be nice if that guy would go look up the Face Offs on NHL.com or read his own board, without looking like a dink on the Panthers site.

hahahahha the guy is rumored to be working for someone we both know RK

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
It really sounds on the Hawks side of things, theyre convinced he can play center. I imagine, he wont be out there for DZone faceoffs, but it will be interesting to see him on a line with fellow countrymen - Hossa/Kopecky

I think center iceman are hard to come by, and if this kid pans out...they just landed a soon-to be 23yr old thats potted 20g his first 2 seasons. The Hawks will also gain a first line sniper/LW in Sharp...if Frolik can play center.

RK...you mentioned on another post that Brouwer isnt physical (I think thats what I read)...I disagree. 177 hits so far this year? He's 2nd in the NHL for LW in hits, 5th in all the NHL. Bickell's 125 isnt bad (however, I agree that I dont think he's as physical as he should/can be...but he is a rookie).

I think if Scooter can get a physical Dman they team "toughness" will pick up. Currently, the Hawks are 275K under the cap after this move...which would "prorate" to get a Dman that makes 800K on the year. I'm not sure someone in that "range" can help them. They'd have to make a few more roster moves...maybe move Hendry in the deal would allow them a guy making 1.3mil on the year...so Hendry + pick ...(send down either Boynton/Johnson could bring in a 1.8mil guy....2.3mil if they send down both).

A couple of things:

Boynton is 1-way, sending him through wavers and we might eat his salary with nothing in return.

Hossa/Kopecky are not fellow countrymen of Frolik.

We all miss all posters who once were but no longer are... wait. what. But yes... The more contributors the better... well most of the time, as I stress contributors... plus it's always fun to have more people around to jab at RK.

This is a meh trade on paper.

Where does Frolik fit in? He's clearly not a center and he's not a left winger either. That leaves right wing, of course, where we already have Kane, Hossa and Pisani at the moment. Playing Frolik at center is probably going to be about as successful as playing Kopecky there, and putting him at left wing on lines with either Kane or Hossa will probably create about as much chemistry as when Hossa and Kane play together -- that is to say none.

Frolik has some skills, but I just don't see the fit. We'll see, I guess...

I want to stress that I'm probably way off base here because I haven' really seen the guy play, but from all the info i've gathered, for some reason I see him as kind of a poor (POOR) mans Sharp. Not really a superstar but has skill, is versatile and can puts up modest numbers. (I say this full well knowing that Sharp is the best player on the team this year and I don't' imply that his numbers are modest this year.). I really like that this kid is 22, and has shown potential and still shows potential. I'm glad that we didn't trade skille for a older vet one year 50/50 quick fix.

Frolik is a very skilled, but soft player. That's the kind of player that Stan likes, so it doesn't surprise me any more than Tallon taking Skille. He will definitely give Sharpie a run for his money, but that's going to be in the looks department. Young girls all over south Florida are gnashing their teeth and sobbing hysterically at the departure of Frolik. Watch for McMonkey to start marketing him....think Ashton Kutchar.....

Best case scenario, I suppose, he turns into Havlat-lite on the third line and bumps Pisani down to the fourth line.

Hahaha that's hilarious, I hadn't even thought of the dreamboat angle yet. I can't wait to start spreading the lie that McD made this trade because he wanted a face that Advertisers would love! And an accent that cyber thieves could get behind. (I've never heard him talk, i'm just making a czech joke)

Well... The way I see it is that he's going to be on the second or third line, HAS TO be, too soft for 4th. SO we lose a 4th (yes I know he wasn't a true 4th) for a 2nd or 3rd. IT will adjust the entire lineup accordingly and put the correct people on the correct lines. that alone should be enough to make this trade a win?

I thought Czechoslovakia was the same as Czechoslovakia, my bad

Frolik - Kladno, Czechoslovakia

Hossa - Stara Lubovna, Czechoslovakia

Kopecky - Ilava, Czechoslovakia

WOAH there killer... Czechoslovakian is not the same as Slovakian. Or Slovak... or whatever the **** it is. They may have been at one time, but they split. So I guess I would assume that depending on the part of Czechoslovakia you are from, you are now either from Czech Republic or Slovakia.

At least I think I'm getting this right. Where they were all born is no more.Hence why in the Olympics there was a Czech team (Jagr) and a Slovak team (Hossa and Becky)

how about trying this:" We really wanted to push Sharpie. Not let him rest on his laurels, so we made a trade for a guy who could do that.....if it happens that the ladies agree, then all the better."

That does sounds almost believable.
