Some very salty and pissed off people tonight who were in the "Caleb Williams is a generational talent and the bear should trade Justin fields" camp.

I told people when I broke down tape a little bit between Williams and Maye that my initial conclusion after watching a couple games was I wasn't overly impressed with either one but that Maye was probably a slightly stronger Prospect.

Hopefully this should disabuse people of the notion of drafting Williams with number one overall pick if Justin continues to succeed.

My only regret is that if we end up with the first overall pick, this sort of play will mean we get less of a haul in return.

There haven't been many QBs that have thrown six TDs in a game and at the time there was about half as many as there are now.

Trubisky looked good in that game. Mitch has 8 game winning drives and Fields has two. Justin Fields was the worst 4th graded 4th quarter QB a year ago. My standard for QB play has always been 4 quarter game winning drives. That's the standard, two minute comeback wins.

But you didn’t start making videos after 6 TDs. You made a video after 4, pounding your chest telling people to suck it even knowing how bad that Tampa team was. Fields multiple 4 TD games don’t matter tho!

Trubisky also played with the best defense in the NFL and the 4th best in other year. Maybe Fields could have led more comebacks if his teams didn’t statistically give up enough points that would give Pat Mahomes a losing record.

Again Williams stands to get about 40m guaranteed over 4 years with 30m SB paid in 2024.

He would be absolutely stupid to pasd that up for an NIL deal that is around 3m. More likely is he tries to force a trade.
