Kaner in the middle of it again...

You know 20 years ago I don't know where the **** everyone was but this was a nightly occurrance for most Hawks. Including PRE GAME nights... JR, Belfour, back to Larmer, Savard, Graham, Hull, Mikita..... Wow how the double standard has changed.

I'm still laughing at Jay Z's blog. Must be a pure Christian there.....

I think we all agree the "kids" gotta make better decisions, less lime light, but he still did nothing wrong.....

I love jumping on the "rumors" of the choking... Anyone pay that ****** in the bar 5k for the video yet? Maybe Jay will buy it. I mean **** think of the "SCOOP" it can bring for the SCORE! Jump on it!

Just to throw facts into everything... Zawaski has never "reported" anything false. I don't like him but he is generally a good source of information.

That article was not throwing anything in there but personal opinion. If Social Media was 20 years ago, what it is today, Hull would be in jail still and half the professional athletes would be flipping burgers somewhere. And that's your team Ambassador, you know the one on the jumbo tron every game half in the bag or more. Yea....

And sure he has. He "reported" JT left the scene of an accident, then retracted it shortly after when he found out it was false. Instead of verifying what he ran with, he ran with it. And that's just recently I haven't paid much attention to anything he's ever written.

Brendan Shanahan: "If Chicago Blackhawks Forward, Patrick Kane, did slam the females head into the glass, then there is no need for any potential punishment."
I believe he was in the hitting on zone.

true but most of the times those facts have already been reported, he's not breaking news. You have to keep in mind he is at the bottom of the barrel. No one really pays attention to him so he can report what ever he wants and if it comes true he pounds his chest, if it doesn't no one notices. Makes him seem better than what he is because he doesn't have to write or report to the same standards as others.

He absolutely has to write/report to the same standards as others.

He's an employee of CBS Radio.

He also teaches journalism at Lewis University.

I would say his standards are as high or higher.

LOL! OK. Puck Jim to Jays rescue. He's irresponsible and the above "blog" is a prime example. Look at Morrisays article today. Now theres a Journalistic article. I think Jay could be worse than Jesse.

You suck his **** anymore I'm going to wonder.

No, Jim pays attention to him. I don't know what part of Journalism the "opinion" of the above article is. It wasn't reporting anything.

Another one jumps on the story as well.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sport...-blackhawks-chicago--20120514,0,5931347.story

Thus far, there's no way to know if either of those incidents occurred because the Hawks denied access to Kane, and other efforts to reach him were unsuccessful.

The Hawks' hierarchy is mum on Kane's antics, also declining to be interviewed. But there can be little doubt President John McDonough — who is all about a positive image for the organization — is displeased.

HAHA! Anything to piss off McDonough is good in my book I guess.

Kane was also mentioned on the IIHF World Championship Power Rankings. Keep in mind they are made with tongue-in-cheek.

Can just imagine how McD will have Scooter working the phones for a trade. Probably went screaming around his office over this one.

No he doesn't, none of his stuff actually makes it to print anywhere and is all his opinion so he does not have to adhere to the same guidelines as normal beat writers who have there stuff online but most of it is reproduced in print which makes it fall under a completely different set of laws unfortunately. He may be an employee of 670 the score but it's not as a journalist, it's as a producer and a blogger. He is as much a journalist for them as Mike North was.

I can't believe this is still being dragged on. It was a week and a half ago. No criminal charges. No slandering of anyone within the organization.

Just a 23 year old have a good time during the off season.

I'm assuming many people are complaining because he's "a role model to children". If that's the case, the parents need to step in and explain to there children how this is "immature" and "douchebaggary" (even though about 90% of those children will get drunk in college at some point).

Are we that terrible of a society that we need athletes to be the ones who set the moral/ethical code?

Bingo TJD. I think a lot of the blithering against Kane in this case is by parents who are unable/unwilling to do their job and be a role-model for their kids that they expect a complete stranger to do so.

[sup]Not true. As an employee of CBS, he is bound by the same journalistic ethos as any other reporter.[/sup]

[sup] [/sup]

[sup]Do you truly believe that he would be allowed to represent his opion or speculation as fact?[/sup]

[sup] [/sup]

[sup]To say otherwise is just incorrect. [/sup]
