I'm going to go with it being his knee, as the injury looked very similar to the one Toews suffered against the Kings. Ankle sprains, unless really severe, aren't typically a set "4-6 weeks". Last time Crosby had the high ankle sprain, it was initially 2-4 weeks or something like that. Four to six weeks, that just sounds like knee territory, unless something's broken? I really have no clue though(in case you couldn't tell).

Having broke my ankle, and I am sure Bri will attest to this because she pretty much destoyed her ankle....it takes forever for an ankle injury to truly heal itself....I still have a hard time running on mine and it's been 5 years.

It's not his knee.

And Pez, Crosby missed 26 games due to his ankle. Far more than 2-4 weeks. He played 52 games that year.

Well then I guess that solves it.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if Kane only sits three weeks....given the way that injury looked.

I bet it's more like four but he could heal faster. He only missed 3 games when it happened in Detroit on the other ankle.

Probably should have sat for the WC as well but that one was far less, although he didn't produce for quite awhile. It could have been far worse so yes, it's a blessing if only three weeks is whats missed. PK is at the UC right now.

Well if he's out three weeks, that's nine games against conference foes. Six of those games are at home.

A complete team effort will be crucial over that time period or this season could be in serious jeapardy.

I look for the Hawks to really step it up and come together to cover for Kane.

Like RK said someplace, could end up be a blessing in disguise.

I can say I am hearing Hossa is very close. So that too should ease the pain of PK being out some. Especially knowing his shoulder has had this much more time to heal as well.

I think the Hawks will be fine. Tomorrow night will be a huge test as although the Stars lost the S/O last night they are playing some damn good hockey. I think 7 W's in a row before last night.

God damn this team has been hit by injuries. Maybe it's just because it's been key people at key times, but I would almost imagine that it's the same as previous years? Anyone know how it compares to last year?

Bolland/Hossa were only ones to miss considerable time. Toews missed a few games with a concussion as well. Those are the only ones I can think of.

I hope he takes it easy and doesn't rush--no reason to this year.

And I too am surprised by Crawford over Turco.

Especially because it's Dallas. I mean Niemi started VS the Hawks in San Jose and I bet will play the Hawks on the 30th here.
