The way I see it, if a mod(dewey) can call posters fucking idiots, so can I. The biggest problem I have with this site is that Rush calls this place a sports bar. In sports bars, there are no rules. People get called fucking idiots when they say fucking stupid things.

You clearly haven't been to a sports bar. Despite whatever things you may think happen at most sports bars, I can assure you they do not, or at least, not because someone was being stupid about sports.

I can see CO's side of this though. Rich is acting like every Cub is horrible as is Wood just because he wants to put down the Cubs. We know they suck, but every bad team has some strengths too.

How can say "no thanks" to Carlos Marmol?

He's just saying that he doesn't think Marmol is the best closer in the NL...I don't see the big deal if it's just his opinion...

No, he said "no thanks" to Marmol, he wouldn't even want him, lol. The Sox don't even HAVE a closer.

That's why we each have our own opinions. lol

I would definately take Bell over Marmol, so IMO he definitely isn't the best closer in the NL (which I don't think you claimed anyway)

I wouldn't say ignorance, just opinion.

I agree he doesn't suck, but if someone disagrees with us, that's fine....we will let Marmol sort that out on the mound :shifty:

First off, dont sit there and say because I called someone a fucking idiot it is the same as what you are doing. what was done to me VIA PMs by a user and what has been said to joehawks a million times, one can call someone a fucking idiot.

mind your own business and post, if you cannot handle a message board, than I would suggest using the exit door and not coming back. If this keeps up with you, you will be forced to use the exit door.

lefty, he was banned 1 day in the last week for his name calling, just so you know that we are being fair.

How the hell can you say No Thanks to Marmol? WTH? Best closer in NL hands down. And it isn't Wood and Cashner. They are both righties, it is Wood and Marshall. Marshall was unbelievable and Wood had a 0.69 ERA in the AL East, he'll be real good back in the NL as long as he stays moderately healthy.

Just as an FYI, you did claim that Marmol is the best closer in the NL.

Well, it doesnt change the fact that hes not "the best Closer in the NL hands down".

Also I never said he sucks, i simply made a case against your point.

Also, im not putting down all Cubs, again, I just said that Marmol is not the Best Closer in the NL.
I can admit there are Cubs players I would mind having on the Sox, for instance Carlos Zambrano, and that they have strengths but if you guys cant handle disagreements dont post on a public forum.

I phrased it wrong. I'm just awestrucken that you said "no thanks" to Marmol. He is the most DOMINATING closer in NL (overpowering), which is what I meant. But what you originally said was that you wouldn't want him at all. I can handle disagreements, I just want an explanation.

For those who think I am mad because he didnt sign with the sox.....stop yourself. Im just fine with our offseason, so please.

My thoughts on Kerry Wood signing:

Who wins? The Cubs front office PR/and marketing for getting this done. This deal was VERY predictable, and could have been seen miles away. This was a business move, the cubs front office understands the fan base that they have, they know jerseys will be sold, and they know how fans will react, just like in here.

What I find amusing is the whole "beloved" and "dedication to the cubs" and this drama of he is so loyal yada yada yada....As a poster compared konerko, which was a horrible comparison, konerko was thinking, be close to home in AZ on a losing team or re up with a team that will contend...he chose to gamble on contending rather than be close to his family. Sorry, I dont respect a player who is taking a 1.5 million dollar year vacation. Any contender, not just the sox, but boston, nyc, etc....were going to offer more money to be on teams that will contend, he took the easy way out. period.

See, I disagree.

You dont think family is more important to him than winning? I do.

What about players who spend their whole career playing for one team? They are comfortable where they are at, and I think Wood sees that this is where he is loved, and where the people he loves are...it is comfortable for him.

I can see where your coming from, and you might disagree with me, but I don't see it as taking the easy way out.

I was going off the fact that u said he was the best closer in the NL, am supposed to read your mind? you should say what u mean. What does Dominating mean exactly to you, because i would like to formulate and argument based on "what mean" not "what you say".
