Fruit: Calories Carbs Sugar Fiber
Apple: 95, 25, 19, 4.5
Banana: 105, 27, 14, 3
Blueberries: 85, 21, 15, 3.5
Cantaloupe: 95, 23, 22, 5
Grapefruit: 52, 13, 8, 2
Grapes: 62, 16, 15, 1
Nectarine: 63, 15, 11, 2.5
Orange: 45, 11, 9, 2
Peach: 59, 14, 13, 2
Pear: 102, 27, 17, 6
Pineapple: 82, 22, 16, 2
Plum: 30, 8, 7, 2
Raspberries: 65, 15, 5, 8
Strawberries: 47, 11, 7, 3
Watermelon: 85, 21, 17, 1

As you can see, fruit is not going to make or break you. The serving size for all of these is either a whole fruit or a cup. A keto diet would most likely to afford the bold due to the low sugar and incredible amount of fiber making it just 7 net carbs per cup.

What? Yes, you can eat berries while on keto. Not a lot but you can work it into your plan.

Avocados are not gross, you should shut up

Avocados are gross. Vegetables should not be mushy.

I have a great protein smoothie recipe. Hopefully I don't trigger any of the keto guys because of bananas and some other sugars...

1 cup ice
1 cup milk
1 scoop of chocolate protein powder
2 TBs peanut butter
1 TB honey
1 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp creatine
1 banana

Blend the shit out of it. Any decent blender should do the trick.

The only thing a banana is good for is a smoothie. I was told that the best thing to do is just buy a bunch of bananas, peel em and then throw em in the freezer. So I started doing that and I really like it. Makes the smoothie thicker, almost milkshake like. I'd definitely give it a go.

I guess it's a good thing they're a fruit not a vegetable, then.

Sounds like a good idea. I'll give it a shot. Put the peeled bananas in a freezer bag or something?

Do I believe fruit is bad for you and a contributing factor for people being obese or overweight? No, I do not. Is it real bad for Keto? Yes, it is and I'll tell you why. Fructose is not actually digested by the body. It goes straight to the liver where it is stored and used for ready energy. Problem for Keto peeps is you don't want any sugar there cause that's where ketones are created. When we burn fat, it's sent to the liver to be converted into ketones and then used as fuel instead of sugar. So, any fructose, being stored by the liver, is very detrimental to the ongoing production of creating ketones.

Where fruit fans go wrong for themselves is they think it's then ok to also drink orange juice, apple juice and the like. It's not part of a whole food anymore when juiced and used as concentrate. It becomes nothing more than another refined sugar. And when people see fruit concentrate added as an ingredient to other foods they don't see it as the refined sugar it has the become. When it is in a whole food such as a fruit, the fiber and water in those fruits is slowing down the release of the fructose in the body. This is important cause the liver can only hold a small amount at a time before quickly resorting to storing it as fat. Studies have shown that it's fructose that is going to lead to gaining more fat than glucose and the reason for that is exactly this, you take in too much fructose from the processed food and drinks and then there's too much of it for the liver to store all at once so it's overloaded and doesn't even give you a chance to burn it off, it has to store the excess as fat right away.

Yeah, drinking juice is probably a bad idea for most people. Marketing these days is a bunch of white lies. "Made with real fruit" or "high if fiber". Even things like fruit loops say this stuff now. And people fall for it. Whole Foods is a great store for a lot of things, but it is also a scam. People see their bakery section with cookie made with the finest ingredients like organic cane sugar and then people eat them thinking they are actually good for you. Yes, organic cane sugar is better than high fructose corn syrup. Not enough though to eat on a consistent basis. Was in there yesterday shopping (their meats, veggies and fruits are phenomenal). Just looking at still all the junk they have that people are tricked into thinking is good though.

I hate that juice is bad for you. I used to start every morning with a nice glass of OJ, but have since cut that out mainly due to the sugar. Straight water and coffee for me. If I drink anything with calories in it, its going to have alcohol in it

You can get away with more in youth as the body is more optimized. As we age, we have to get smarter with these things and adapt

Going off will "restart" the metabolism after it slows to adjust for reduced caloric intake.

A "pig out" day can be good for losing overall.
