Our hero's lack of focus. "CDC medical emergency!! A newly discovered form of life threatening human existence! I gotta go to am AA meeting."

The last two episodes have been better, less home life drama more quality kills. Tyrant has also improved from the early episodes. I had high hopes for both shows and both went family drama early but are bouncing back late. Just not enough for a recommend yet.

Yeah The Strain definitely has a weird kinda hole lol where there are monsters running around sucking blood out of people yet the characters are still doing mundane stuff.... I think the idea is to give the impression to the viewer that the spreading has been well planned and covered up but it is kinda poorly executed early in the show as you alluded to....

Lol the thing showed up at that old folks home and somehow the next day the National Guard had not been called in....

Once they brought in the exterminator character I latched on.... I think he is gonna be a bad ass.... the main protagonist CDC dude comes off as kind of a fucktard to this point.

Old dude and the Exterminator will team up.

But Sean Astin doe. Amirite? Proly the greatest actor of my generation.

I guess he's my generation. Maybe I should just say of his generation.

I stopped reading due to non-use of the spoiler tag. This coming from someone who just marathoned Deadwood and Carnivale. Thanks, Obama

At least most of the spoilers were for shows I have no interest in.

Did your feelings for either show change upon complete viewing?

Ended up liking deadwood quite a bit, carnivale (outside michael j anderson, clancy brown, and stumpy) not so much, although the unintentional series finale was intense

I wish I could use Clancy Brown's trick IRL. "Be still."

lol when he insisted on riding the ferris wheel to defy Samson was one of the moments when I was like "seriously?....

....clancy brown would never ride a ferris wheel."

I do think I'm being a little too hard on the show. I thought it had so much potential and could have been better than it was, but they also got clipped too soon

True story.

Where did you watch it? I'd like to revisit it.

I watched justified and agree with what someone else posted. seasons 1-3 pretty good but then show started to decline.

imo the acting is really pretty good. the one hillbilly bad guy, boyd or whatever, if pretty great. But overall its a little cliche and the plot kinda wears out after a while. The whole rouge sheriff thing is a bit played.

Sorry you didn't like it. You didn't like "Her" either so I feel like a nitwit for recommending TV/movies because I definitely respect your opinion on stuff here. IT Crowd is a sitcom so I have low expectations but I like the characters and it got a lot better after the first season. Watch the *** Musical episode. If you don't like it then the show is definitely not for you...

"Her" assuming you mean the movie with Phoenix was a pretty good film. Phoenix is probably one of my favorite actors.

Indeed. I liked it and hated it, but thought it was a decent film.

I tried out BoJack Horseman earlier today, watched one episode and I think that might be enough for me. Maybe I'll give it a couple more tries.
