The dude with the hair and glasses on IT Crowd doesn't work for me. I just can't get into it.

But ... I just discovered the 12-13 min episodes of Mid Morning Matters with Alan Partridge. No idea how I missed this, but it is priceless.

Monk I am giving that show The Leftovers a try.... the one with a thread in B&I, have you seen it? If so, what did you think?

Watched the first couple episodes of The Strain. Was slightly different than whatever I was expecting. Pretty good though.

Just watched the episode where Brody is kidnapped by Nazir at the end. I'm not sure I like the direction the show is going. We'll see.

So... Watching Carnivale. This show is fantastic, really bummed to hear they leave us on a cliffhanger as they cancel the show :(

It's like Twin Peaks, but only better and with less shitty acting.

A couple shows that haven't been mentioned yet:

- Vikings (excellent, my personal favorite next to GoT)
- Manhattan (very good so far)
- Salem (first few episodes are bad, but gets better)
- Sons of Anarchy (if you haven't heard)
- American Horror Story (seasons one and two are the best)

I think The Strain has already jumped the shark.

Sons of Anarchy is a great show. I love how many bikers now have made up clubs after it became a hit. I saw one motorcycle group called "the punishers"; prospects, tattoos, patches, seargent at arms n all. Looked very much as 1%ers. Yeah.... It was a cop biker game lmao. I was in near tears.

American horror story is awesome. I LOVED the season of the mental hospital. Number 2 I believe? Fantastic and really did a great job with a crazy storyline.

Yea Vikings is great. I'm not watching Manhattan because I don't think the ratings will be enough to get a Season 2. AHS is good as well although the first season was so much better than the 2nd and 3rd. Hope the coming season is strong.

I agree with you about AHS. The first two seasons were innovative and creepy. Season 3 had some good actors but the storyline is boring, and the ending blew.

Your loss on Manhattan, it's better than I expected so far.

I have been watchin Orphan Black. I am 7 episodes in a will say what I think about it.

Acting is mostly good, sometimes really good. Only a few moments here and there of bad acting imo. I think the main actress is pretty damn good and pulls the shit off convincingly mostly.

I really like the premise of the series. Its exciting, mysterious, and seems pretty original so far.

The part of the plot based around the main premise started cool and has gotten way better. Through the first couple episodes it seemed like they were adding a bunch of secondary story arcs that were unnecessary and kind of weird and seemed to add clutter to a premise that was already weird enough. I didn't like the extra shit, especially since some of it was pretty heavy handed sentimentality.

But as the series went on, most of the side shit wound up connected to the main premise. And the rest of the clutter seemed to fade away.

So now, 2/3 in, its pretty good. Some little bits of poor acting or unnatural moments, but mostly pretty damn good. Its worth watching for sure, imo. And its not a cop show, so thats something.

If it gets renewed, I'll give it a look. I'm just not going to get invested in a show that isn't likely to last.
