Desp, please stop making yourself such an easy target. The rest of you, please stop trolling the shit out of him. Thank you.

Sorry nvan.

Back on topic. .. do you guys think this thread should be merged with the "dog guy club thread"? That one had a much friendlier atmosphere and it may turn things around and lower the hostility.

I'm Comin down to FL in April, Wanna grab a beer with me??

N Cago runs a biz on the beach. Id love to hangout there! Maybe have a meetup??

LOL! Sure man, I'd love to... but only because it'd bring me many lulz to re-enact one of my all time favorite gifs while simultaneously shattering your delusional perception of everyone else here being fat nerds when you see my "good looking as ****" alphabro self pull up in my 1000hp big turbo Supra only to give you the 50 cent "yeah right" drive by...

50-cent-driving-gif.gif

The look on your face alone would be the worth the waste in gas.

Oh and sorry nvan, I'll stay on topic from here on out.

I'm not trolling him at all. Just trying to help him become more self-actualized. :)

I try not to hang out with people that have retardations. It's usually pretty awkward.

If the epsy or downsyndrome kicked in.. I wouldn't know what to do.

Here is my little one being creepy, I was studying at the kitchen table when I looked over to him staring at me through the window, along with a couple other pictures of when he was a puppy and a comparison of him from a couple months to one year old.

Cute!

How is his energy level? I heard beagles can be nuts. Does he try to bolt out the door every time it opens?

He has a ton of energy, I can sit on my couch throwing the ball into the kitchen for hours as he chases it and brings it back to me. I have a doggie door so he goes in and out as he pleases so I won't see him for periods of a time because he is outside running around chasing animals. The downfall to the doggie door is he has brought in a few dead moles and a dead opossum, which is pretty gross.

Hope daabears looks through this shit and laughs

Just finished it up botfly. This message board has some of the funniest people in America on it. Good show guys, and thanks for all the comforting things said. I really appreciate it. And I am fully prepared to go against my norm, and dislike away at the idiot when his ban is over.

Ah ok that makes sense then with you being up near Tampa, it's probably a tad less humid, but really it was mostly just carelessness on my part. I definitely should have known better but after your blood thins out down here you kinda get used to the summers so I didn't think much of taking him for a run at the time even though it was like the the middle of July. His boxer was a piece of work though. I could never own one, they're waaaay to stubborn.

Hmm, I don't see any stubbornness in mine, but all dogs are different. Rex is really good dog and I have really enjoyed having him. He's as active and rambunctious as I want him to be, and he'll calm down as soon as I ask him to. He's always ready to go, but chill at the same time. Protective as hell, but not dumb about it to where he barks and runs around the house from window to window over nothing, he's sneaky aggressive but super friendly at the same time. I dunno, they are cool dogs imo, don't let your friends dog ruin it for you if you're considering getting another dog.

Same here with my guy. I've been doing some separation training with "climb pads" which are very useful.

Temporary separation is all good. But when I'm out of focus from him for more than a minute he gets super anxious.

How have you guys worked with this to alleviate the anxiety?

I read this post last night and totally forgot to reply to it.

Use baby gates in your house to separate your puppy from you while your at home for an hour or two every night. Have them in the next room over so that he(?) can hear you and all that but can't get to you. It'll get him used to being away from you and it will help his anxiety in a gradual way.

Baby gates where really effective for me as I didn't want to crate Rex.

He will be disliked for just about everything he posts at this point. I will also make it a point to belittle his football acumen. I will then proceed to challenge him to a fight IRL, preferably at logan square.

True, it really all depends on the owner so I'll just assume you're a much better owner than my former room mate was. He didn't exercise it nearly as much as it needed and kept the dog crated up the majority of the day while at work so when he finally was let out after work the dog was off the walls with energy and very destructive if left to his own devices. He ended up moving out to Arizona a few years back though so I'm sure the dog is fairing much better now that he can actually run around in the wilderness and open spaces of Az instead of the over crowded concrete rainforest that is south FL.

As for me I definitely plan on getting another dog once I move out of south FL (probably another lab but maybe a husky as I also had one of those when I was a kid) but I'm not in any rush since between my gf and all her family having dogs and just about all my other friends having dogs I can play with all the dogs I want and not have to actually take care of any of them lol.

We have had three Boxers and none were that stubborn. The female less so than either of the males.

RIP Tillman.
