Why is everyone so upset about McCown leaving? If Cutler doesnt get hurt this year, then he wouldnt even play a down of football unless they were blowing someone out. Trestman has already proved he can pick up a qb off the streets and make him 10x better. He was a freaking High School football coach 2 years ago! Good for McCown for getting a chance to start some where, but Im not to worried about it.

Then why pay Cutler $18 million a year?

Because history has shown us that Cutler WILL get hurt.

And has Trestman REALLY proven that? He proved it in the recent NFL with McCown. The NFL has changed since Gannon.

The point? It worked. The Bears have 100 things to fix. Not having to fix the backup QB was a good thing. Now it's yet another thing to fix.

The known vs. the unknown.

Some are upset because we lost a backup who for the 2nd time in his career had more TD's than ints against the easiest part of our schedule while ignoring the fact he was horseshit in the past no matter the team, system or turf he was on. Others are upset that we have to look for a backup now lol

So you're saying the Bears should have matched Tampa's 10 million dollar offer for McCown? Lolz. Not just your post, but there's a whole lotta stupid in this thread.

Because Trestman knows a real QB when he sees one.

Is that why the Bears refused to extend Cutler until a month or so ago rather than right when Trestman got to town?

Wow Tampa overspent. Are they ever going to look stupid when he reverts back to his career norm QB rating of 70.

Lovie Simith needs to grow up and get over being fired by the Bears. Signing the bears left overs in some make believe shots at this great organization. The BUcs might as well be renamed Bears Rejectz.

typical Lovie......sign a bunch of defensive players to fix the defense and then sign a QB to fix the entire offense.

Been calling this one from day 1. No way McCown was going to stay a Bear after putting in the performance he did last season.

I like McCown, but he is not going to have the same success in TB under Lovie.

Good for Josh, happy he made some coin. But lets not forget:

Everyone forgets. McCown did play 3 games with Lovie as the Head Coach.

He had a record of 0-3 (on a team that started 7-3), had 2 TD's, 4 INT's, 414 Total yards, A QBR of 30.8 and a Rating of 68.3
