Holy poop! Someone finally gets it.
The NFL once thought that maybe they should market the show to middle-aged white guys. For three straight years they went with Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen and The Who.
Ratings dropped every year until they hit rock bottom with a performance by The Who that was even panned by fans of The Who.
No mas!
Besides...be a man like the rest of us and use halftime to poop out all those pre-game munchies, then go out and smoke a cigar on the porch.
Not sit there and tell your kids how much better this show would be if the NFL would just bring in some 30 or 40 year old rock band that you refer to as "real music".
Literally shaking my head at all you crusty mofos.

I wasn’t really going by Rock... just remember those 3 years... I’ve no issue with U2 either.
Like I said play what’s popular.... I’m good. The halftime show isn’t interesting to me... it’s break time.

Except Metallica is just as popular as Maroon 5. Just look at how many tickets they can sell and the prices they can sell them at.
Besides, it's not like the pop genre didn't bring in some washed up star like Madonna...

More appealing to wife and kids. Not more appealing overall IMO. Ofcourse, there is no way to really prove that.

I don’t watch for the halftime show.
I’ve not seen any since the stones... except one.
My daughter did get fired up for Bruno Mars.. I watched it with her.... He was great...

As far as that list goes though...some rando USA Today article is not really an official ranking system. He even says that Paul McCartney was pretty meh, but he still is Paul McCartney...so top half of the list by name alone.
