Just watched Marley and Me last night. It was enjoyable, but nothing I'd run out and try to convince people to see. Worth a rental if you have a night in with the girlfriend/wife etc though.

Dude, I saw this movie with 3 chicks and a dude and all were crying at the end. They all told me that I was a monster for not crying during this!? I say that they were monsters for being emotionally moved by a shitty movie.

I didn't think it was that bad. It was just a pretty typical movie to me.

Just saw Definitely, Maybe last night.

The actual story was pretty good, but the ending kills the movie.

Seriously, this guy is getting a divorce and talking to his daughter about how he met her mother. In the story, he makes it clear that he was really in love with another girl the whole time, the one that got away, and the daughter not at all upset by this wants her dad to chase after her within days of the breakup? Yeah, I know most kids are rooting for their parents to find new girlfriends a couple days after the divorce.

I ended up seeing Adventureland with a few guys because there was nothing better out. Overall, it wsa a pretty solid movie. Like you guys said, not a "coming of age" movie or anything, but definitely enjoyable. It was obviously more of a drama/romantic comedy, but it still had some pretty funny parts that made it fine to see with guys.

I thought that Fanboys was absolutely hilarious. If you haven't seen the Star Wars films, it won't make any sense, but if you have, and you liked them, you will find this movie hilarious. It's pure comedy, going for the laughs 100 percent of the time.

I'll have to check it out. I remember seeing the preview for it a long time ago thinking it'd be a good movie to see with all my friends who are star wars geeks.

"Shutter Island: Martin Scorsese, enough said. I just realized I may be drawn to directors more than the actors/actresses."

Leo Decaprio is in it too. I really enjoyed the book. Best one I have read in quite awhile.

The ending to Marley and Me kills the movie huh Doug? LOL! I see what you did there.

Never heard of Shutter Island, is it new or older? Most Decaprio movies are really good. I think if it weren't for Titanic his reputation and respectability amongst men would be 10x as high.

As for Marley and Me I never said the end kills the movie, I said the end kills "Definitely, Maybe".

Re:OT: Movie talk

Has anyone seen any of the following movies?

Wendy and Lucy
Gomorrah
Forbidden Lie$
Theater of War
Sunshine Cleaning
Medicine for Melancholy

They're the next batch of movies coming to one of our local theaters.

None of them really pop out at me as something that is must see. Sunshine Cleaning looks interesting, but I'm not sure of it.

Yeah, that kind of an ending can really ruin a movie. Look, we all know there is a disconnect in movies today between how kids are portrayed, and the way they actually are. But sometimes, the plot's that involve the kids, directly, just suck.

It's like when I watched "The Day the Earth Stood Still". The movie wasn't very good to begin with, but the spoiled kid really bugged me. By the end of the movie, I was pro-Armageddon so that we didn't have to hear the kid run his mouth anymore.

Shutter Island is a book by dennis lehane. He wrote "mystic river" and "gone baby gone". I thought it was his best work but mystic river is a great book too. Check him out.

watched Marley and Me the night i found out that my 10 year old chocolate lab, ive have since he were a puppy, has cancer... really sad that movie was funny but sad ending. the book was way better.

watched xmen origins: wolverine. if your a stickler for the comics, your gonna hate this movie, they combinded 2 separate chacters to make one at the end. it was pretty bad. other than that, its an insanely awesome action movie and of course gambit makes the movie all that better.

I saw Baby Mama yesterday on HBO and I have to say it was pretty decent. Amy Pohler was hilarious.

I loved when she was putting gum under her coffee table and she kept trying to defend herself.

I saw I Love You, Man. I thought it was freaking hilarious. The part when they are playing poker and then start chugging beers, WOW! Funniest thing I have seen in a movie in a while.

I also saw Taken. What a great movie. I totally got caught up in that movie. If you haven't seen it yet, then you need to. Liam Neeson is such a bad ass in it.

I saw that when it first came out. I liked it and yes he was a crazy bad ass in that movie. Its scary how real that story is, American girls go to other countries only to get kidnapped and killed or sold for sex. I feel so bad for Liam, he lost his wife a month ago.

Watched Star Trek this weekend and I liked it a lot. almost enough to go see it again actually. That said, i was never a true 'Trekkie' so i'm not sure how you guys would feel about it.

Ps, every time I see a new trailer for the Terminator movie, it looks better and better.

Not into those types of movies however glad you liked it and if you want to look it up on youtube they should have it. On weekend update the two main characters are on it and than a surprise comes. Good stuff.
