I watched A Serious Man, and it just plain sucked.

I really saw no character arc. It was like: meet character A. Now, for the next 100 minutes, watch him get crapped on. I kept waiting for his character to make the transformation like you stated, then... nothing. If the Coens did not have their names attached to this film, it would have been panned. If any of us would have written this film and turned it in as a final assignment, we'd receive incompletes. Imagine if this was-- say, done by M. Night, it would be raked across the critical coals.

I like the Coen brothers, but this wasn't even on my radar... good thing it seems I didn't miss anything.

Watched "Payback- the directors cut"

Basically you take a great film and ruin it by giving it an alternate ending that ended up on the cutting room floor. The original theater version is much better.

I saw TRON: Legacy yesterday.

I mean it wasn't bad. I was entertained the entire time. I don't get all the bad press its getting in that respect. I went into it knowing TRON wasn't going to be some epic masterpiece.

Did you see it in 3D IMAX? I was told by one person that is the way to see it and another person that they were disappointed it wasn't all in 3D.

I watched "The Other Guys" last night and was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. It was one hell of a refreshing take on the buddy cop movie... and having Ferrell be (mostly) the straight-man and Wahlberg be the nut worked well for it. It was also really nice to see Michael Keaton in a comedy again - I don't know why he doesn't do as much anymore because it's really a major strength for him.

What made the movie even better was that it didn't really rely on a drug/gang plot device that most movies like this fall into... but that it went after new corporate crimes like Ponzi Schemes.

I thought that would honestly be the best thing going for this movie, glad to see it worked out. Didn't know Keaton was in it, what part did he play? I have this on my que, maybe I'll bump it up or see if it's streaming yet?

Keaton played their Captain who kept quoting TLC songs and then denying it.

Don't think it's streaming yet, but you might want to bump it up. It certainly wasn't the movie I was expecting.

I saw it in 3D. I dont think the 3d was particularly great there were times i forgot it was even in 3d because even in the 3d scenes the 3d wasnt hugely noticeable, I dont really think 3d or no 3d would have made it better or worse.

I'm sold.

Save your money and just look up the scene on the interwebs... haha. Seriously though, I want to see this movie as much for that as because it's Arnofsky or however you spell it. Love his movies, especially Requiem.

The Town- Was a decent movie. I thought it was going to be better but it wasn't terrible.

I'm Still Here- Terrible. I can now understand why Casey Affleck almost went bankrupt.

It was really a giant mindfuck of a movie, definitely interesting, despite being about the Ballet. Never knew it was a psychological thriller, my wife jumped like 6 times.

Oh, and I just finished watching Outsourced (the movie the TV show is based off of). The movie, unlike the TV show) is actually really good. Very funny, but if you watched the show you can see where they pulled a LOT of jokes/situations from, except they are executed much better in the movie. The movie is actually good, whereas the TV show just started to get somewhat decent (though they changed a lot, and the changes were some of the things I didn't like about the show.

I didn't realize that movie was the basis for the show... I keep seeing it on Netflix streaming, I may have to check it out. While I don't dislike the show and think it has potential, they too often opt for the easier jokes rather than trying to be creative. Sometimes I think Dietrich Bader is being wasted...

yeah, that's how I saw it (streaming on my Wii) I think the show has gotten much better as of late, but those early episodes were kinda painful. the movie is vastly superior to those early episodes that the show nearly ripped off directly.

Just picked up the OG True Grit on Blu-Ray last night... I really like the movie, but sometimes I have a hard time believing John Wayne won an Oscar for his performance.

Though Rooster Cogburn is, in fact, a badass.
