Black Swan - It lived up to the hype for me. Excellent movie. I can see why Portman is getting talked about for an Academy Award for best actress. Amazing job.

I hard portman has a masturbation scene. Might be worth it for that alone.

Paging Dr. Freud, Dr. Freud...

Funny.

I watched the movie "takers". Alright action flick, but a few complaints.

1. There was the cop storyline and the bank robber storyline. The problem is the whole cop storyline was very anti-climatic and almost made pointless. The cops ultimately did nothing to impact the storyline really(Matt Dillon, Jay Hernandez), sure there was the whole plot where the jay hernandez characters son was sick and he took money from a crime scene to help pay medical bills, but their whole plot was pointless and frankly filler, when he got shot and killed, the whole cop plot would have made sense had Matt Dillon caught the criminals and let them go to take some of the money to help out his family.

2. Does anyone else get annoyed how bank robbers are glorified on film? There are almost too many to count where the bank robbers are protagonists.

This movie just doesn't look appealing to me at all... and I would give my left nut for a night with Zoe.

Although after reading your spoiers - I'm now glad I didn't see it.

Personally, I don't think we glorify bank robbers... we just get excited about overly-complicated heists.

I know I'm 10 years late on this one, but I finally saw The Insider yesterday. Overall the movie was good, but the effin music drove me insane. I don't usually notice things like that in movies unless it's glaringly positive or negative.

Anyone going to see Gnomeo And Juliet? It seems creepy enough, but Jason Statham as one of the voices amplifies the creepiness for me.

As a side rant, I'm so fucking tired of 3D movies already. Everyone is half assing them anyway. It's just worthless and messing with glasses the whole movie really takes it away. Unless you are going to go all Avatar on your 3D, which by the way was the only good thing about that 2.5 hour POS, then don't bother making it gimmicky with the 3D!

Enjoyed The Book of Eli over the weekend. Had no idea what the undertone of the movie was before watching.

If you like psychological horror and war movies, add "deathwatch" to your netflix queue. Yes the box cover and name seem campy as hell but its anything but.

Premise, a group of british soldiers in WW1 get lost in fog and end up in a German trench and take a prisoner, but it essentially isn't the germans they should be worrying about.

It has good acting and is well made and a decent story.

I'll check it out.

Then you should see this:

question for you, paul- how much is caruso in the movie? i've had it in my netflix queue for a few months but i didn't realize he was in it.. and for some reason i cannot stand him. i might be able to stomach it if he gets a small percent of screen time.

Watched, "Whiteout" last night and while I'm unabashedly a big Kate Beckinsale fan, I found this movie thoroughly boring and predictable.

Might have to check out the graphic novel - usually Rucka doesn't disappoint me like this.

I agree, on both accounts. Kate Beckinsale is my #1 hollywood crush.

Really good movie. Never heard of it till it came up on my recommendations on Netflix. It's available to stream. Check it out.

I thought it was a good movie as well... but as soon as I figured it out entirely and knew the ending it got real slow. Still give it 3 of 5 minimum

Amélie - really good. Don't know how to describe it any other way than an adorable film. Another 4/5 for me.

Plus a truly fantastic and atmospherically spot-on soundtrack to boot!
