Saw a few movies last week on my business trip.

Catfish - interesting documentary. Worth a watch.

Horrible Bosses - Had it's funny moments. Decent comedy, but not upper echelon, IMO.

Bad Teacher - This one was just bad. The only funny parts were the parts with Jason Segel.

Watched Michigan/Ohio State. It was a documentary that covers the 100+ year rivalry, focuses on the 10 year war, and covers the culture between the two campuses. I thought the friendship of Bo/Woody was covered very nicely. Not a fan of college football, or either of these schools, but the documentary pulls you in at the onset. A good 1 hour watch. Anyone with HBO can on-demand this or use HBO-GO to see this.

#1 Priority: GOTS to see The Muppets movie this weekend. I am a HARDCORE Muppets geek. Was MAJORLY disappointed when all, "Poof!" out of nowhere Disney stopped releasing the individual seasons of The Muppet Show dvds about 3 years ago. They had been releasing a season a year and all was going swimmingly. Bummer. That was totally fucking jacked-up leaving people with the first 3 seasons in these sweet boxed sets then just dropping the releases with no warning, no nothing. Assholes.

WORD. Nevertheless, that movie delivered one of the absolute CHOICEST scenes of the entire year IMO thanks to Jason Segel:

I totally know what you mean - I actually hadn't been buying the individual seasons because I was kind of waiting for one big box set with everything. I think I had read they were getting into some licensing issues with the guest performers and music (although I could totally be remembering that incorrectly).

Went to Harold and Kumar in 3D last week. It was everything I had hoped it would be and more. 3D more... Movie of the Year. Unless you don't like it.

I just watched Rise O' Planet O' Apes.

After the first half hour/45 minutes, I think that was actually pretty fucking good.

I don't really see planet o' apes applying to it too much.

"Apes Gone Wild!(and smart)" would have been a better title.

Seriously though, I had very low expectations for this but really enjoyed it.

To be fair, I am not really a fan of or even too familiar with most of original Planet O' Apes.

I really want someone's review of the Muppets though.

I'm glad someone else liked it as much as I did. Little kids doing drugs = hilarity.

Rented Super 8. There was probably a better story in this movie to make without there having to be the whole mystery alien/monster thing. Just seemed like a gimmick by the end of the movie. I get what they were going for, that 80s fun, sc-fi, ET type movie, but you gotta have the sci-fi part of the movie work. I didn't give a **** about the alien because you didn't know anything about it. Just seemed kinda tacked on to the main theme which felt hollow because of it.

Super

That was just a bad movie all around. Terrible plot holes and the story is just not convincing. Would not recommend watching this one.

So how was the Muppets movie?

I plan on going this weekend if this chest cold goes away.

I am a Muppets freak. I LOVE them and always have (I did not like A Great Muppet Caper though). I am looking forward to it big time. It will probably be completely disappointing but Segel always makes me laugh and he seems like the perfect person for a roll in a Muppet movie.

I assumed you liked it because of NPH... even though you were upset that he's not really ***.
You fucking idiot... that's just a character in a movie, of course he's still ***. And mine.

BTW, it was AWESOME!!!

God what fun seeing the old gang again! The Muppets make me all smiley. Sighs. People now do not have a proper appreciation for the genius of The Muppet Show---tis a pity. 6 PM on Saturdays on Channel 2 (WBBM) was THE place for me to glued to the TV back in the olden times when the show ran, heh. As for the movie, I really dug the premise of the gang being long split up and needing to get back together for last big hurrah because their old theater is slated for destruction. Ahahahaha---wait until you see what everyone is doing now or where they're found.

Were the Muppets on right after Hee Haw?

I remember always catching the end of that horrid show before something good came on.

Seems likely to be the Muppets.
