He is the best defender on that team by quite a sizable margin...lol...there should have been enough evidence of that in the playoffs last season.

i definitely disagree

How is Rami not banned yet?

For all the shit I get around here he does far more damage to the board than I do.

In the posting I referenced, you seemingly start with sarcasm and end with a "real" point, but I can't tell which is which, because you switch from sarcasm to "real" for no apparent reason, and your "real" point is so incorrect that its almost satirical.

Forgive me for not understanding a damn thing you say. You compared Dwight Howard to Bill Russell and Lebron James to Lindsay Hunter, and your evaluation tool for defensive skills is whether or not the defensive player could dunk over the offensive player that he is guarding.

Got it.

That wasn't sarcasm. Lindsay Hunter was the better perimeter defender than Howard and elite basket-defenders like Howard. Defenders like Wade, James, Jordan, and Pippen were also more versatile defensively than those bigs. Does that mean they were better/more valuable defensively to their respective teams?

Dwight Howard and Bill Russell were both interior defenders while Hunter and LeBron were both perimeter defenders. Comparisons are valid. The most important area to defend as a player and a team is the rim seeing as that is the area where the highest percentage field-goal attempts take place. Saying that a Dwight Howard is more valuable on defense than a player like LeBron James cannot just be dismissed as "incorrect" for that reason.

"Lindsay Hunter was the better perimeter defender than Howard and elite basket-defenders like Howard." = valid statement

Though I'm sure Rory Sparrow will come back soon and you can continue to suck each other off some more

Umm no it's absolutely not a valid fucking statement.

Has that smog somehow made you even fucking dumber?

1. "Lindsay" Hunter has never played in the NBA.

2. Lindsey Hunter was a shitty shooting 2 guard who, while he was a good defender he was never "elite" on the wing..let alone down low.

Silly me, I actually grew up watching the guy play. Meanwhile you grew up eating paint chips and being an idiot. Not sure which one caused the other. Might be worth looking into. Also, BRB going to call the guy who averaged .2 BPG for his career an "elite basket defender".

Thats not what you said. You said that Lindsay Hunter was a better defender than Dwight Howard. I still don't understand what you are getting at here. Why Lindsay Hunter? I don't remember him being an especially good defender.

Note: Underlined part of quote is meant to be spoken in Tim McCarver voice!

He was a better defender in terms of the skill you need to be an elite defender of quick NBA guards along the perimeter. That doesn't mean he is the better defensive player. And, yes, Lindsay Hunter was a great defender of point guards. Learn your history.

Odd, Hunter was this historically significant great defender of point guards..yet never even made an All-NBA defensive team.

LOL at you telling us to learn OUR history.

Yes, because whether or not an NBA player makes an all-defensive team is an indicator of whether or not he was a good defensive player. Players more deserving never get overlooked for a lesser name guy.

^sarcasm (I know you're too moronic to figure it out)

You said...

I don't understand how I am misinterpreting your statement. Its pretty simple.

And I STILL don't understand what you are getting at. Lindsay Hunter was better at guarding "quick NBA guards" than Dwight Howard...got it, coach! Tim Jennings is better at covering "quick NFL WRs" than Julius Peppers, but no one is declaring "Tim Jennings is a better defender than Julius Peppers".

Lindsay Hunter was a good defender, but I wouldn't call him "great" or "shut down". I would say an aging Ron Harper was a much better defender than Hunter, but thats just my opinion based on watching both play.

Lindsay Hunter is a better defender than Dwight Howard and bigs like him when it comes to an actual learned skill. Is he a more valuable defender than them? No. If Hunter had Ron Harper's height and length than he would have been the better defender. Physical tools have most to do with how valuable you are as a defensive player.

Odd, name me some other historically significant defenders to never make an All-NBA defensive team.

Hunter, for as "great"/elite as you think he was didn't even sneak onto one during a 17 year career. It's not like I'm holding some 2nd team nods against him asking for more.

I'm asking for ANYTHING to show it, besides your incoherent Special person ramblings.

And people have declared LeBron James a better defender than Dwight Howard as well. The word defender is a subjective word in itself seeing as there are a lot of defensive skills and physical tools you need so I am willing to give some of them the benefit of the doubt.

When you actually look at what is most valuable between LeBron James' versatility on defense and Dwight Howard's ability to shut down the paint, it is obvious that Dwight Howard's ability trumps LeBron's defensive versatility (much like it is obvious that Pepper's ability to threaten the opposing QB makes him much more valuable than any NFL corner).

I don't need to show it. Hunter was a skilled defender during his career without many physically imposing *tools to make him very dominant which was why he was used as an example.

If anything, you need to "show" why the statement I made which you called out was actually incorrect.

or else you are a failtroll

Yes you do.

Show something.

Anything.
An old article, facts, stats, whatever, specific examples.....

ANYTHING.

You have brought nothing to the table.
Hunter was a skilled defender

Hunter being a "skilled" defender doesn't make him "great" or "elite" let alone good enough to where he would be historically significant enough to actually take time to "learn" about.

LOL ur a fucking moron

A misspelled word you are resorting to now. That is almost Lefty level of loserism.

And the structuring of a sentence u r calling me out for.

I never called Lindsay Hunter a better basket-defender than Dwight Howard, moron
