In knowledge of how to shut a player down man-to-man, I'd say Hunter was better than LeBron James on defense.

How would you know that? How would you know if Hunter had more knowledge of how to shut down a player concerning on the ball defense?

I get it. So not being the typical meatball who hates on Lebron automatically means that I'm sucking on Lebron's dick? Clever.

Nah Prope. You need to read Lebron and Hunter's mind more and know that Hunter has more knowledge about defense than Lebron.

I honestly don't remember, but was Hunter ever a starter? He couldn't have been on those Pistons teams.

A) LeBron James is more of a help defender than anything else. He can man the 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 positions all well (especially the 2 and 3) but he is usually roaming on defense no matter who he is guarding and trying to move with the basketball of the opposing offense trying to jump in passing lanes and block shots from the side or behind.

B) Hunter needed to know the ropes better than a player with the physical tools of LeBron or even a Ron Harper because of the fact that he was so much smaller than basically everyone else. Hunter had great footwork and knew how to read a ball-handler. LeBron occassionally has his let-downs when defending perimeter scorers one-on-one. He is not a God of defense.

LOL. Now saying Lebron is currently the best defensive player in the game is the same as saying he is a defensive God.

I'd say you are acting like/being a dunce fan who is disrespecting Hunter for automatically assuming that LeBron knows more about defense than him simply because that he is a bigger name or that he had more physical ability.

So yah

Ummm...no one is doing that.

Lol...yes! And so do the coaches! I can name players who are just as impactful as Chandler. I can't find many in league history who can do what Lebron does on a nightly basis.

LeBron does at least a little bit of everything on defense. Tyson Chandler (current DPOY) and Dwight Howard (multiple-time DPOY) do a LOT of one VERY important thing on defense.

LeBron is not the most valuable defensive player.

When did the argument change from "better" to "valuable"? Those terms are not synonymous. And if there are lesser of a player in a particular area, does that not increase his value?

the reason tyson chandler got the award is because the knicks had lackadaisical and simply inept defensive players(aside from shumpert) and played, for a while, under d'antoni's system...which,um, does not stress defense(big reason, imo, his great suns teams didn't go far)

tyson changed the defensive dynamic in the post and individually is a very good defender

though i think shumpert should get some credit for doing his part to re-tool the defense...as well as the coaching change

regardless, tyson did his part in the post...so i would argue he had great value down there

that's why he got the award. Is he the best defender in the league? I would definitely disagree with that sentiment

But forget that argument. As has been pointed out numerous times...THIS YEAR...Lebron was the best defender in the NBA. He had the best year defensively. Whether you want to talk about Howard's injuries, or the inability of certain Heat players to play at a high level defensively this year (Battier anyone?). Rami fails to notice that Battier did not have a good year this year, on either side of the ball.

i think lebron certainly has a case for being the best defender this year...i think, as it has been said, it is debatable...but wade has been inconsistent and not had the best year because of nagging injuries imo

ya, battier is aging and, imo, didn't mesh well with the team system and everything else

Whatever way you want to look at it, Lebron was both more valuable and the best this season.
perhaps...

This is another, in a long line of 'way out there' NBA statements you make. It is my theory you do this so that when the off chance of your shit coming true you can look like the genius, instead of taking the logical approach.

For the record: I like Hunter, but at the end of the day he is an 'also ran.' Me saying Lebron is a better defender than Hunter is not me showing disrespect. Nor is it me assuming that because Lebron is a bigger name.

As for him having more physical ability, it is my belief (watch out - wild statement coming) that Lebron is a better defender due to his better physical abilities. It has already been stated, and by you as well, that Lebron can defend every position. That is infinitely more valuable than what Hunter brings.

Do you ever know how to take a joke?

Perhaps he's reporting it because it's an unjust assumption?

How do you know it's disrespectful to Hunter? How do you know your statement wasn't disrespectful to James and that's why he reported it? You don't know that James knows any less or more than Hunter.

Hell I could form an argument saying that since James, IYO, is more of a helpside defender that it takes more knowledge, quick thinking, etc to be a helpside defender than it does to be an on ball defender, which IMO is more based on athletic ability and effort/instinct.

Your argument and assumptions suck.

False. Your post was reported because I feel that it brings down the collective IQ of the board. I was disrespecting you.

It was reported because it gave me a headache.
