Sure Stu, but we've had enough contract issues. Our core is signed and realistically had they started the playoffs this year "healthy", they may just have won the Cup back to back. Vancouver BARELY got by a team just decimated with injury and missing two Centers right off the bat.

I'd rather use the money for depth. If that means bringing in two Centers, 2nd and 4th line so be it. But just don't blow the wad on one player.

Besides Richards is in no way taking a 2.5 Mil pay cut. And realistically, that's what it would take.

Bri I love Seabrook just as much as you, but realize shit happens in the heat of the moment. If Wiz repeatedly did shit like that such as a player like Cooke, then I could understand the hate. You won't find another fan that likes Seabrook more than me. He's my boy.

Why do I see you pounding your fist off your chest as you say that?????

Stu, you can say that about anyone though, even those kids that got drafted this weekend. My level of hatred and disdain for that bozo (sorry I used your name in vain Bozo) is at the same level that Bri has for Hossa...probably more so.

I never really had an opinion on Richards. He is a pretty good player. But I heard an interview he did on the NHL Network last month. And they asked him what his favorite team was as a kid, and he said he was a huge Hawks fan. So I had to like him after hearing that.

Something I was just thinking about, I wonder what the loss of Soups on the Blue line will do to the D chemistry. A good portion of us agree this is a huge (however smart money wise a move it was) blow to our back end. Grante dit really is only one man, but they are loosing 2 guys that have been a huge part of this team for 3+ yrs now. And on eof them is arguably one of the better D-men in the league.

RK...someone hurt her babyboy, she wont forgive. I am not a fan of bringing back retreads, but Wiz or Sope's are two of the few I would.

Pmx I have named some guys that are older that i wouldn't mind seeing Stan pick-up, but DAMN, Eddy J??? Isn't he like 103 or something?????

And I may be one of the few here, but I dont care what he could possibly bring offensively to this team, Brad Richards is a prima donna little ***** and I DO NOT want to see him in the Indianhead.

Yeah cause we already have one of those on the Hawks. We don't need another.

And as for Wiz, you can defend that POS all you want. Seabs was suppose to be a good friend of his not just a former teammate and he didn't hesitate for a moment to do something that he knew could cause serious harm. He has no boundaries anymore and is a liability to any team he is on. You want someone like that in a Hawks uniform, but not someone like Brad Richards.

And FYI Seabs was not my BIG BABY BOY.

Okay Bri, how many times has he done something like that in his career? There is no such thing as friendship or former teammates when you step on the ice in different colored sweaters.

And as RK stated, if the offended party has kissed and made up with him, whats the problem?

I have never been a big fan of Wiz even when he was on the Hawks. And he has gotten much worse since. But he always seemed like a cheap player. Canuck like, he should sign there he would fit well. How about Sopel? He will take a very small contract to suit up on the Hawks. He would be a perfect 6 D-man does anyone not think he would take a hometown discount?

He did not KNOW anything because he wasn't thinking. It was the heat of the moment, in a very passionate game. Again for repeat offenders your logic works. Not for something like this.

I want ANY player in the Hawks uniform that helps us win the Cup. I'd take Richards in a heart beat if we could afford him. I'd take Wiz too. The Habs didn't think TWICE about bringing in Wiz for thier chance at the Cup.

You'll be happy though as I doubt Stan will blow his money like that and both Richards and Wiz will probably want more money than we are in a position to offer.

You really do need to get over that hit though hun and realize it was NOT intentional. It was a dumb move in the heat of the game.

It wouldn't have mattered if it was Seabrook or someone else. He is out of control. If he was such a valuable asset the Ducks would have kept him, or the Islanders would have kept him, or Montreal would try to keep him. You consider me unreasonable, but it doesn't sound a bit childish for you to say I don't like Briere or Richards cause they are little bitches.

And yes I do love the Biscuit, but I don't have blinders on. If he did something like that to another player I would lose all respect for him. At one time I was one of Wiz's biggest fans. Now I can't stand the sight of him.

Your kidding right? You didn't watch him and his 51pts at all last year did you? To give you perspective Keith had less, Seabrook had less, and Campbell wasn't even close.

And those guys actually played on a good team.

Guess Seabrook must have blinders because Bri, he'd take him on HIS team in a heartbeat. Shame one move has made such an impact on you. Lucky actual NHL players don't think like that.

I know I don't know why I just have never been a fan. I doesn't make much sense but I wasn't upset when he got dumped by the Hawks the first time. And don't have a desire to bring him back. I do however like Richards a lot. I think if the Hawks made a push told him they can't give him as much as some teams but you can go for a cup, I think we have a shot to get him. But for Wiz I didn't like him pre Seabs hit.

well he's certainy not gotten worse since he left. Last year was probably the best so far in his career. I always liked him. Great guy off the ice and a good teamate on the ice.

Both could help, but neither will probably be here so this is a moot discussion that will probably just get peoples passions upset one way or the other.

It's ok for you to hate him Bri. Was a dumb move. Hell I told him to **** Off, but we've talked since then and I understand he wasn't thinking.

I guess while I'm at it then I should forgive Burrows for pulling Duncan's hair and want him to be a Hawk too?

Seriously? Burrows knows what he was doing and holy **** he's done it again with the biting.

Maybe you should go all out since you'd love Burrish back he punched BOOGARD in the face when he was on the fucking bench. Knowing damn well there Burrish wouldnt get the fucking shit kicked out of him. That's just as much a Slim ball move.

Comparing Burrows to Wiz. LOL Wiz actually sticks up for himself and fights people when asked.

Side note I didn't realize Campbell only had 27 points last year. 7 mil for 27 points. And I like Campbell but thats not good.

We all have things we will never agree on. This is one of them. If they make the mistake of taking him back, I hope it doesn't turn out to be something the team will regret.

Uptown baby!
Eh, if you're gonna pay Richards big bucks I'd just as soon Stan work a poaching trade with another team for a Centre who's a bit younger---Pavelski, Peverly, Stoll, hell if you're going to pay that kind of money I'd rather pay out the final 3 years of Spezza's deal and get him while he's in his 28-31 years old range than pay Richards the same kind of major bucks and likely have to sign him for a minimum of 5 yrs. since he's likely looking for a retirement contract. In an ideal world Stan finds any human way possible to broker a deal and poach Jordan Staal---PIT has far too many stud Cs and not a ton of cap space, heh. Talk about a stud wasting away on the 3rd line when Crosby and Malkin are both healthy. Now Staal is a "Wish"! Nevertheless, I was never one desiring a superstar for Hossa (not that I don't think he doesn't deserve it mind you)---I am willing to be reasonable so I just want him to be given at least a 2nd tier class of Centre so that there's no cap woes. That is assuming you don't go the Laich UFA route which I advocate, heh! Man, this year's UFA class is weakass.

I really don't know WTF my Wish List is now because The Ginger trade completely affects my entire thought process. I was assuming that with 5 months to rehab and rest and there being no fatigue excuses come October that if Keith actually set his Give-A-Shit-O-Meter dial to like at least 7 and that Hjalmarsson if staying would revert back to looking like he hadn't lost his motherfucking mind out on the ice that the Haws D-Corps would have that SC season flavor again. I miss terribly the puck possession and also the prettiest outlet passing ever. Most people have been clamoring for adding a vet stay at home guy for the 3rd pairing which I don't have a problem with either and is all good and fine but I never was expecting to have a hole on the puck moving D-man position so that changes everything to my mind. I don't know that here's anything in the UFA crop that fulfills rectifying that but maybe a trade could be brokered for a PMD below Campbell's tier or is it Leddy trial by fire? I really have no idea what to expect right now.

I'm actually quite surprised that the Habs signed Markov to that contract and are prolly letting Wiz go, and know quite a few Habs fans that agree with me on that one. He was solid for them. Comparing him to Burrows is rather silly from my perspective...Burrows is one of the most hated players in the nhl...haven't heard the same about Wiz.

So is Kruger playing centre for us? He was the one guy I've been trying to figure where he fits in the lineup....i know it's not even July lol.

Rumor has it Nashville is going to make a "Monster Offer" to Richards.

Playing him 6 times a year would really fucking suck. He often has the Hawks number!
