No.

1) without the penalty he doesn't score coming out of the box

2) we still won the game, so why does it matter?

3) It was a year ago, why does it matter?

RFA;

Re-sign; Crawford, Campoli, Frolik. Goodbye Dowell, Stalberg, Brouwer

UFAs;

Re-sign Kopecky if he can be had at the same price or a *very* minor raise. Resign Hendry as the 6/7 if he can be had for 600k or less on a 2way & is healed. Resign Johnson as the 4th line center & Turco as the backup if they could be had on the cheap. Goodbye Pisani.

Smith gets a roster spot next year.

I think there is room for one more yewt from the hogs on the 3rd/4th line (Morin/Olimb/Pirri/Beach/Kruger/Hayes, Makarov)

Fixed to my liking.

Didn't hurt it. They scored.

They were already down a goal.

Yeah down a goal and losing a man doesn't help the situation. It hurt the team, it made all that much harder to score. Luckily we did.

Worked out pretty good. Again as the point Hossa is in the top ten two way players in the league. No question. The contract as it's structured, knowing he won't ever finish the last four years or so, is not hard to move if they chose.

I remember a very similar conversation about the Campbell contract, too. Oh, how things change in a couple of years.

Hossa isn't overpaid though, so it's apples to oranges.

Neither is Campbell. also Hossa sucks he's casper, he's a ghost, and he fucks Kopecky (it worked last time I bitched about him)

I figured since the 2010-2011 season is OFFICIALLY over for the Hawks, we should fire up a thread for discussing next season. What you THINK the Hawks will do, who you see them keeping, who you'd like them to keep, who you'd like them to go after, etc.

So, let's hear it.

I'd like them to get someone younger than Madden for the bottom 4 center position that could stay on the team for awhile.

They need to sign a 4th line checking/grinfiding forward, preferrable with good wheels.

They need to sign a 3rd/4th line center. Defensive minded guy, good in the circles, PK.

Maybe a 6/7th D-man, not necassarilly a pugilist, but certainly someone who plays a physical game and skates beter than Scott. Could that be Stanton or is he career AHL?

If the price is right, re-sign Johnson and Turco.

Edit; Forgot aboot Frolik. Maybe re-sign him but then there's not much room for a kid from the Hogs.

You couldn't just bump the other thread?

Sharp Toews Kane Hossa, Bolland, Frolik, Smith

All 6 D that played last night

Everyone else can go. Build around that.

Yes I know no Kopy. I'm not saying he should go, just can, but for the price I don't think you'll find better so I hope he stays, Frolik is there because he's got another year and really turned it on, smith is there because I liked what I saw and should still be cheap. I want the STK line, and would love it if Bolland could be the 2nd line center so they can afford to get the quality pieces at the bottom.

If nothing else we can take from the playoffs series, it's that Smith and Frolik should be on the roster next year from the start. In my opinion.

I'd throw Bickell into that too... Cheap, physical, showed up in these playoffs. Just have to find a way to motivate him. He's like Buff.
