You forgot Crawford.

Bickell, yeah I guess you could throw him in there, but I wouldn't say he's a must, his game you could find, but for the right price and how he works into the rest of the scheme he could stay or go. Just because someone wasn't on my list doesn't mean I don't want them back in the right spot with the right supporting cast, just that I wouldn't be hurt if they were gone.

As for Crawford? Did you see the game last night? I didn't forget him, he just not in the discussion as negotiable.

Bickell makes like...league minimum. And for a couple more years. There's no reason not to bring him back.

Helps he's still under contract as well for 2011-12....

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
My big offseason wish is for more center depth and getting Crawford back and shoring up the net. That might take care of itself with Dr. Craw/Salak.

2nd on my list is Kopecky, get him at his current salary if at all possible.

I really think this team could be a cup contender next season with just a couple of moves in the bottom six. You have to find a solid center. One who can take faceoffs and kill penalties. Then you have to find one, maybe two energy guys for the fourth line. You do that, and this team is right back there. Stalberg and Pisani killed the Hawks this season. They didn't fit in ANY role on this team. They played them on the fourth line the most, and neither of them are good fourth liners. I'm not sure what Stalberg ends up doing. He doesn't have the sense/hands to play in the top six, and he doesn't have the defense/grit to play in the bottom six... Pisani's NHL career has to be coming to an end.

I have no objections to resigning Turco if he wants to take a bit less and is willing to be the #2 in chicago.

Honestly, neither would I and I think it would give Salak/Simpson/Carruth more time, which foir the last two would be invaluable.

Something tells me that even as a backup, another team could possibly offer Turco more, but if we can get Turk for sub 1M, why not unless it forces our hand somewhere more dire, like Center depth.

honestly, I don't think it's going to take much to fill the roles we need. Its not like we need much at $$ dollar. Many names are put on here are good, there are alot of options which will make it fun and easy.

I'd be fine with...

xxxxxxx / Toews/Kane

Brouwer/ Sharp /Hossa

Bickell/Bolland/Frolik

Kopecky/Kruger/Smith

Stalberg

Keith/Leddy

Campb/Hjarll

Seabk/Campoli

Scott

As far as "xxxxxx" ...could be someone like Morin...or signe another center and put Sharp there. I don't think Brouwer or Frolik are going to get/require much of a raise based on their regular season (I guess a benefit for having a 'down' year). Kopecky maybe a slight raise based on his career year. Campoli (like Brouwer) may just take 1 year deal to get to UFA status. Frolik/Kopecky would be 2 guys I'd try to sign to 2-3 year deal. Stalberg was on an entry level contract....not sure if he'd get the same 850K or less. I'd tender him...if it gets to be too much, move him for a pick if anything, but definately tender him a contract. There's not that much out there via FA in a center position that I think the Hawks could fit in. So it may either have to come via trade, or go with Sharp there. I'd keep as much of the team together though and not try to bring in 4-5 new players.

Much rather get a real 2nd line center.

I think to coax Salak over the pond he needs to get a one way deal and get games in the big show. I wouldn't have a problem with that as I think he has great potential and it would be sweet if the Hawks could have a goalie tandem that could win games for the team on a regular basis.

He was currently on a 3yr - 6.2mil contract....(last year paying him 2.4mil)

During that contract..

82gms - 23g - 53pts

78gms - 25g - 59pts

82gms - 16g - 48pts

He's 6'2 210lbs - and he'll be 28yrs old at the start of next season. Guessing minimum would be around what Bolland gets - 4/5yr around 3.5-4mil per?

At his age, he's probably one of the 'better ones' out there. Others comparable -

Fleischmann (26 - but he's had blood clots)

Connoly (29....injuries)

Larose (28.....a favorite in CAR...but they have Staal/Sutter)

Some 'Vets" UFA..

Arnott

Handzus

Fiddler

Prospal

Not a lot of mentions for Ryan Johnson. I thought he was a well priced, well timed acquisition. Great 3rd/4th line guy that can kill penalties. I would love to have him back.

Send Kruger and Leddy to the gym this summer. Get a real second line center, once and for all.

Agreed, keep Johnson, find a 3rd line C. Bolly is our #2 guy.

Ryan Johnson has been on the losing side of each Canuck-Hawks series, so it's clear he is the bringer of bad mojo. Kidding aside, I thought he did well in his role and was a fearless shotblocker and a dependent face-off man and wouldn't mind him as a back-up plan if no one better comes around.

Natural Centers to rival that of Pitt. (not far off...)

Crawford at Detroit goalie prices. (Crow we love ya and Tazer will lift it again, you know you want in.)

An official Red Ryder, carbine action, two-hundred shot range model air rifle

I like Johnson but I wouldnt take him for more than a 5th center/2 way contract depth. He's getting up there, has an injury history and not sure how much he can be relied on. He played ok/did what was needed, but I wouldnt want him in the top 12 forwards.
