The problem with Johnson is this. He isn't a third line center anymore, and he doesn't bring enough physicality or energy for the fourth line. There's a reason he didn't have a team this season until the Hawks signed him. He no longer has a niche to fill in the NHL. We can do MUCH better than Ryan Johnson on our fourth line... The only way I want to see him back, is if he's our 5th center, and only used in case of injury.

I said it since we got him....I like Johnson.

Agreed! Especially for what he makes. He should be our 4th line center next year and take important face-offs in our D-zone and be on ice late in close games in case another center gets tossed from the circle.

I would be happy to let Brouwer and Kopecky leave if we can replace them. All we really need is a much better 4th line for energy. Also, lost Stalberg and get a real centre for the second line

Sharp-Toews-Kane

Smith-?????-Hossa

Bickell-Bolland-Brouwer

too bad we didn't keep Marty Reasoner.

That's not the reason. He was recovering from broken feet last summer and most of this season. We just happened to be the team that gave him a chance to get back in the league. I understand what you are saying though, but I can look past it because he started to kick it up in the last few weeks. I think he has great character and a lot more press on the forecheck as well as energy than Dowell.

I say he stays!

Here's the thing about Johnson, he wins faceoffs. We need that. We have Toews and Johnson that are good at them. Bolly's number were not good, nor were Sharp's. We need guys that can get us puck possession off the faceoff.

Look up Sharp's face off #'s in the Canuck series this year. Never mind, I'll do that for you-34 wins, 22 losses, 60%. In last years playoffs it was 49.8% and 51.7% in the regular season.

Now that's the 2nd time you've posted such nonsense. You can post it a third time and it still won't make it right.

I would like to see Hossa and Campbell both gone. I was unhappy with both of their contracts. They eat up way too much of the cap. I know most of you will disagree. But I have never made it a secret that I just don't like Hossa.

I have stated before I would like Campbell unloaded somehow. Also I think we should move away from Brouwer, he is just too inconsistent. I still preferred Havlat to Hossa but I don't say we dump him yet but I still think he hasn't lived up to expectations.

Hossa has been to the finals for three years in a row and been banged up during that stretch. With a longer off-season he'll be good as new, count on it.

I don't know about Campbell. I think he has rounded out his game and become a dependant #3 who can eat a lot of minutes. And he's solidified himself as an important cog in the style the Hawks want to play. Contract is bad, but can only hope that the new CBA allows some way to re-negotiate contracts, even just one.

Go look at his regular season stats. I think they are mid 40s.

No way we unload Campbell he was arguable our best Dman this year. His defense game has improved since he's been here and we've all seen how the hawks play without him. Also he'd paid the market value for what he does. That type of Dman is expensive.

Brouwer is a winger.

Anybody know the earliest qualifying offers to RFAs can be made and when the deadline for that is this season?

Although Soups contract is a bit of a albatross, I am not sure dumping/trading him is the answer. I really don't feel our problem is defense. This was just an off year for our top pair, and it was shown you mix and match the 6 D-men, it is still a very viable and strong D. Even the young guys showed strength and smarts well beyond their experience. D isn't the problem.

Regardless of personal reasons, you dump Hossa you're a moron. Contract is a masterpiece the way it is written, and he will retire before finishing it anyway. he is one of, if not "the" toughest person to knock off the puck in the league, did you see who created the play that lead to the goal to get them in game 7?????

Biggest needs: Full time/real 2nd line center and some 4th/checking line grit/size that can skate (and get more then 2 minutes a game ice time).
