This and if you get lucky, some of those show early and you're more than competitive. It's an interesting schedule. We went from one of the most difficult to easy overall and that was before Rodgers split and Vikes decided to rebuild. That could be 4 wins right there if we hit the ground. Lions look real if they don't Lions so should contend but we also have the easier out of division schedule. This is a difficult season to predict. Enough's been done to be near 500 but if things go well, the post season isn't out of the question.
Agreed. If we get a lot of breaks as far as player development and just some sheer luck, we could be at 11 wins or so and make some noise. I'm expecting 8-9 wins though which means playoff contention through possibly the very last game, much like how the Lions did last season. It's a very young team that'll need to learn how to win games so there's going to be growing pains.

The only other big acquisition I could see this team making is a pass rusher, but our inactivity in that area has me thinking that the front office is fine with what they have. Maybe they are targeting some cuts?
I doubt they are fine with what they have, but don't want to use big$$ to add more of the same, just for shiny(ish) slightly used toy. I imagine Poles is waiting to see if he can get a prototype he likes as teams look to move or cut players through TC or cut down day.

Remember the NFL is going to a sing cut date from 90 to 53 on Aug 29th and the Bears get 1st dibs on any player they chose.

Good point. I didnt realize that. I doubt we get a world beater, but I don’t want to pay top dollar on a pass rusher that probably won’t play most downs. It sounds like that’s what we get with a guy like Yannick Ngakoue.

I didn't look up what each WR was making which was why i clearly said "somewhere around" when i was throwing numbers out there. I was simply trying to get you to say what you would think would be a low ball offer and what would be the lowest number he would accept but you didn't want to answer that which is fine.

I don't care what you or anyone thinks about my pissing matches because there's many people that do it on here especially your clown crew people and the biggest CCS clown @Anytime23 and shockingly you never say anything to him about it which makes me not give a damn what you or anyone thinks even more. Singling me out on disliking certain posts and my pissing matches just makes me want to do it more. Show some fairness and do it to everyone and maybe that would change.
Of course I've had disagreements about Claypool with Anytime and more than once but we don't get stupid about it. One of us will eventually be more wrong than right. BFD. I laid into him pretty hard one time on another topic. He understood why and didn't rip back into me. You get all wanky over normal disagreements and contradict your own points depending on the wind. Asking me how much Claypool's contract needed to be While bringing up specific completely wrong #s for a success and then saying you don't care about actual contract #s in a later post. WTF?

My point regarding Claypool was not that it's a big deal to me one way or the other but that I completely understand why Poles did it, which I have already explained to you. Whether it was a good move can't be known for another year. If Poles missed, BFD. They all do. It's about how often you hit vs miss and manage the cap.

Is this where you search for my posts to mass dislike? OHHHH!! NOOOO!!!:jonesy:

You did see that @Bearly came at me on this and started this pissing match so once again you guys are talking to me about it and not saying anything to the person that started the pissing match.
Insecure people can't tell the difference between a disagreement and being attacked. I'm happy to put you in your place if you act out but really, a reasonable discussion is all I was after. Once you start dancing just to try and win some arbitrary disagreement, you deserve whatever you get as long as you continue responding. Trust me, you're not worth chasing around but I will be happy to respond to you again if I think the topic is worthy.

I feel resigning Claypool to a starter money extension is a very fair way to judge the trade. Won't necessarily make it a great trade but at that point it becomes a successful fair one. If you don't agree, BFD. Just stop the bullshit.

I mean Roseman, considered to be the best GM in the league, had this stretch:

Raegor over Jefferson
Dillard over Sweat
Arcega Whiteside over DK Metcalf
Barnett over Allen
Gave Wentz a 2nd contract when it was clear he lost the locker room

But in his defense, he took advantage of shitty GM’s and desperate teams and made up for it. GM’s miss all the time; the great ones don’t double down on their mistakes.

I don’t get how he’s been treated since new regime came in, there’s obviously a lot more to the story that we don’t know.

You make sense. It just seems that they have taken advantage of Jenkins a bit but if he’s cool with it then good.

I hope Jenkins balls out so he can get paid. I absolutely love watching the kid play, he’s a monster. I think he’s been the best lineman playing, all things considered. Playing four different positions on the line in his time here.

Hope some his nastiness runs off on Braxton

Seems pretty straightforward to me. He didnt have the attitude and practice habits the Bears wanted and they held him accountable and he got his shit together.

That's because he wasn't worth the 32nd pick. Why would anyone derail threads about something that nobody but @remydat believes?

Thank you moron.

So here you are crying about people picking on you but yet my name is in your mouth again when I am not involved.

This is why you are an annoying ****. You start more shit than anyone then cry when they all gang up on you.

the goalpost moving. Couldn't possible give a shit about your religion. You're one nasty comment by an agnostic away from joining the Catholic church and finding Jesus.
If you don't give a ****, stop tagging me, douchebag. If I wanted to join a pagan religion, there are others I would try first, before Catholicism.

We don’t know all the facts surrounding his situation.

You may be right but I don’t base my opinion on speculation or without knowing all the facts and I think it’s a but naive to think that we have been told everything or that all we have heard is the truth.

Regardless, I think it’s odd for a guy who has played the best and shown the highest ceiling to be in the doghouse.

We don't but the Bears do and so does Jenkins and neither appears bothered by it.

Also you are speculating it is odd or an issue despite not knowing all the facts.

Maybe it is time to just accept the parties that do know all the facts have moved on and stop looking for things to complain about.

I agree, my point was that I do not know but as long as he’s happy then things are cool.

In the case that he’s not happy then it would be nice to know all the facts but that’s never going to be the case.

More than likely, Jenkins did something to get out of favor vs the Bears being wrong but it’s happened to players before.

I just wish him well and want him to be a stud for the Bears bc I love his attitude and the way he plays the game.

Dane Brugler revisited his top 50 players list from last August and compared it to his final rankings and the players’ actual draft slots. Here are the Bear players that were on the August list.

“22. Noah Sewell, LB, Oregon

Final ranking: No. 154
Where he was drafted: No. 148 (Chicago Bears)

As Penei’s little brother and a five-star high school recruit, Noah Sewell’s first-round hype began before he ever enrolled at Oregon. Though his lack of coverage range was always a concern, his ability to thump downhill against the run and as a blitzer made for an intriguing mix. However, Sewell’s limitations became clearer and clearer on his 2022 film, and he was drafted almost exactly where he landed in my top 300.

29. Gervon Dexter Sr., DT, Florida

Final ranking: No. 55
Where he was drafted: No. 53 (Chicago Bears)

Dexter was another player I initially graded on sophomore flashes and the projection that he’d have a breakout season as a junior. That didn’t quite come to fruition, but it was clear on last year’s film that he has more ability than his lackluster production would lead you to believe. Dexter ended up at No. 55 in my final rankings, and the Bears drafted him near that spot.

41. Zacch Pickens, DT, South Carolina

Final ranking: No. 83
Where he was drafted: No. 64 (Chicago Bears)

A former five-star recruit, Pickens looked and moved differently than the other players on the Gamecocks’ defensive line. He didn’t quite live up to my expectations, which caused him to drop in the rankings as the process played out, but I understand why the Bears drafted him where they did. Pickens has impressive agility and balance for a 300-pounder — those types of players were tough to find in the 2023 class.

45. Tyrique Stevenson, CB, Miami
Final ranking: No. 69
Where he was drafted: No. 56 (Chicago Bears)

With his size (6-0, 200) and speed (4.45), Stevenson had the physical profile that NFL teams crave at the cornerback position. There were some discipline issues that worried some scouts, but Stevenson’s talent belonged in the second round.”

Wright was not on his August list.
