Why the **** would Lemmming not expect the Bears to be a playoff team next year? Do they have a franchise QB or not? Is the NFC north not wide open?

If bears aren’t a playoff team one of two things happened (or both) Either Fields isn’t that dude, or Poles Fucked up the off-season. Bears should be a playoff team next year.

it's one thing to say it's possible

it's a whole other to say you expect it

There are 14 teams that make the playoffs, there are more than 14 franchise QBs. So yes, it's unfair. 7 teams make it in the NFC. Franchise QBs in the NFC are: Dak, Hurts, Rodgers, Cousins (like him or not), Stafford, Murray, was Brady, and then you have Fields and whatever you consider Goff and guys like Daniel Jones and Geno Smith. And that doesn't even count the 49ers who, everyone Shanahan touches becomes a franchise QB.

So even if you don't count Goff or Jones, and you take away Brady from the NFC, you still have 6 other franchise QBs and the Niners. So, 1 of those teams are going to miss the playoffs every year.

There are always exceptions. And I don’t put cousins in the franchise QB category. Either way, if you have a legit franchise QB, the expectation should be playoffs. It’s not unfair. It’s reality

They were on the same team in 2020 as well. Why didn't you screenshot those stats? And Jake Fromm is better than Justin Fields right because he won the Georgia QB job and made Fields transfer.
Yeah I can't think of anything that happened in 2020 that could have caused stats to be a little skewed and make it hard to determine why a freshman only had 10 receptions. Certainly a normal year. Definitely not anything significant that could have happened.

Yeah that isn't really true. If JSN doesnt go in the top 11, that will likely be in large part because he was injured most of the season. Obviously if he was fully healthy and had a year similar to 2021 then he would likely be the top WR in the draft. This is not to say he is better than those two but can't pretend having just 5 catches and 43 for the whole season isnt a major factor. He is being downgraded due to lack of production and injury which doesnt mean he isn't a better talent.
What you say isn't really true either. The NFL in very recent years has drafted a WR top 12 who tore his ACL 3 months before the draft. The NFL also drafted WR1 who sat out a year (not injured). And I know the pandemic was a special circumstance but injuries and lack of recent on field production isn't necessarily a deterrent either if the traits are there.

So the argument is: JSN put up better numbers on the same team in non-pandemic seasons? That's quite the specific sample size.

Statistically, Cousins is clearly a franchise QB. Just because you don't like the guy doesn't mean he's not a legit franchise QB. 6 seasons each in passing yards, passing TDs, completion %, passer rating and GW drives.

Yeah very small sample size indeed. He was only the best receiver in the best WR room in the history of college football. Def too small a sample size to take a shot at. And now that I'm thinking about it 350 yards in the one game the two stud NFL players that say he was better sat out isn't important either because the rose bowl is basically like an Idaho d 3 high school state championship

He’s not a franchise guy. He chokes in the playoffs and almost lost the locker room numerous times.

Yeah, lets compare his freshman season against upper classmen instead of the most recent and more relevant season. Did JSN impregnate your daughter while kicking your dog and soiling your pickup trucks cloth seats or something?

You guys are acting like I don't like him. I literally said the exact opposite. Hell, yesterday I said he is the closest thing in this draft to the answer to the Bears offensive weapons. All, I'm saying is he is not as good a prospect as guys who went 10 and 11 last year which isn't an outlandish thing to even say.

Oh and funny you mention the Rose Bowl. That actually helps my point. JSN played 13 games to Olave and Wilson's 11 each. The 2 games Wilson missed were the Rose Bowl (also Olave missed) and Nebraska.

JSN's numbers in those 2 games: 15 catches, 347 yards and 15 catches, 240 yards. Take out those 2 games and Wilson outproduced him.

Oh and the best WR room in history was at Bama around the same time.

And based on the logic used in this thread, Jaylen Waddle (the most productive in the NFL and the highest drafted from the 2019 Bama WR room) was the worst prospect between him, Jeudy, Ruggs and Devonta Smith. If not him, it was Smith who was 4th on the team WR in 2018 (Waddle was 3rd).

Oh and he was also injured in his final year (not as injured as JSN this year), but it surely affected his draft stock when he fell to (checks notes) 7th overall.

Oh good another player who loves that Fields can run and says nothing about if he can do it in the passing game.
Oh good another idiot on CCS who didn't think Justin Fields improved as a passer because he watches box scores and not football.

Maybe you can bribe your male orderlies to actually let you watch football instead of paying them for pairs of used female patient's panties.
